440mb out of 8gb is almost an eighth of your memory gone. Plus, because background programs take up a bit of ram too, you probably have less than 8gb of actually usable ram.

Also, how much vram does your gpu support?

I must say, I agree with several previous posters. You show only three foreground apps, without BeamNG open in a map, and you're already at 78% memory used. That means you have about 1GB left/free to load that map, which will never happen. I'm honestly not sure what's taking so much ram if you truly do have 8GB, but I'd try going into the startup tab of task manager and disabling everything that doesn't have "audio" or "graphics" in the name. Chat apps, especially Discord (at least back when I tried it), use lots of ram in the background, as can any peripheral managers, anti-virus software, or music players. Once you've disabled all those, restarted your PC, and opened task manager again, see how much free ram you have

try closing google chrome because thats already using half a gb of ram.

why are you giving it a one star rating when you don't have a good enough computer for this.

You have 78% memory usage, so you have less than 2 gb available. Windows itself shouldn't use more than 2 gb, so something in the background is using almost 5 gb of ram, since it doesn't appear in the apps section.

Love this map a lot, but looking at the first page made me realize how much better the map from 2017 looked in certain aspects. The color grading of the trees/grass and sky looked more realistic, and the water still worked.

Can't please everyone. I don't even pay attention to people who cannot read, think, and apply the information given (in this case, system requirements). Usually they're very young and I have zero business speaking with people of that age anyways, and quite often there's no reasoning anyway. Reality has a way of sorting out those who act out for attention, when things aren't just as they want. Maybe I can put a "Caution: Low flying tantrums over modest memory requirements" sign in the map somewhere. :)

This old map has a bunch of broken graphics, I have to update it. ETA on a compatibility update for this is probably 'by the end of the year', and will probably land sometime after a Los Injurus public update.
Of course if someone has paint dot net and saves all normal-maps (filename_n.dds) as BC5 LINEAR UNSIGNED dds file format, and then goes ahead and saves anything with specular (reflective) issues as BC7 sRGB dds file format (diffuse/colormap also uses this), all the texture errors (other than no_texture / no_material) will go away.
I just haven't had the time as I'm repairing my house, the deck was about to give out, there's a leak on the roof I keep chasing (very slow drip only on heaviest rain), and I'd rather not have the building falling in on me while working on Los Injurus.
Let's just say I am the shining example of deferred maintenance right now unless I get this stuff done (I have also made this known for a good month or two on the Los Injurus thread, too).
This map also gets back-ported objects now and then from Los Injurus (such as the upgraded bridges!). It will be quite a while before I come back and truly UPGRADE this map, because I don't want to end up becoming a mountain when it could have been a mole-hill. Upgrades could be everything from updated object-based curbing and new road graphics, to new models for buildings - but that won't be for quite a while as I said above, just to be clear.
For the foreseeable future, Los Injurus will be my primary mission objective. This map will get a compatibility update as a secondary objective as time allows, and it will be done this calendar year yet, but I am unsure of when that will be. Can't predict a development cycle so I cannot promise dates. If someone wants to help fix up this map great, have at it; but for right now I have to get models finished for Los Injurus. I have well over 300~500 models to do for that map yet, at the bare under-estimated minimum. Of-course for the assistance if it works properly then I will add you to the supporter beta for Los Injurus for at-least a year at no cost to you. However, help from others is not required by any means, and I will fix this on my time without a fuss. Probably in around 5~6 weeks from now.
Sorry that there's only one of me, and I can only do so much, but I do have commitment to those who help support & enjoy Los Injurus City, and there's still so much to do.

Just to be clear, a gaming-oriented computer system should have no less than 16gb of RAM, no less than a 4gb GPU, and a modern processor (hopefully a quad core or better, but this will directly impact how much AI you can run, along with RAM capacity), and you'll want good cooling for all the parts as mostly only a desktop can provide. Laptops might not be happy after extended times running this with heavy AI and may slow down, so please plug into the wall for power and get a cooling pad if you *MUST* use a laptop - cooling pads are cheap. Search 'laptop cooler' for one if you need such an item, especially if the PC is 'getting slow'.
Example of a bare minimum system = i5 2500k, 16gb of ram (4x4gb), and a 1060 3gb GPU or 4gb 970 GPU or RX 470 4gb, or even a 750 Ti 2gb / 4gb though with 2~3gb you will commonly hit VRAM limitations, and it will harshly impact frame-rate dropping it to ½ or ¼ FPS instantly if you go over this VRAM capacity limit.
This map was designed to run on a 4GB GPU, however, this was years ago so additions to the game may have raised this to 5gb or even 6gb with lots of traffic. You will have to be the judge - but it is still half the VRAM requirement of Los Injurus, never-the-less.
--That's all for right now (of course he says that, one book later)...
(if folks aren't happy with this map, PLEASE go play a smaller map that loads up on the computer in-stead of being miserable - this map was made for SPEED or just 'chill driving' of any kind, but it's got some hidden jumps and other fun spots scattered about)

AI and the navigation thing avoid some roads as much as possible, to the point of trying to get themselves or me off of them asap. It's certainly odd.
There's also an offramp near spendalot where the cars get confused and go on the shoulder (one of the roads that the ai likes to avoid is to the left of it)
    also necropost lol

also also holy crap 5 years since the last post

Theres barely any water on this map anymore. Its all rocky looking where the large body of water is supposed to be even after clearing cache and verifying files. Did I go wrong somewhere?

Looks like this version has messed up the textures on this and the Nevada interstate maps. And these are my favorite highway maps.

So I literally created an account here just to post - as someone who grew up just off the edge of this map (Midway / Paintrock), this was amazing! If there's ever any help I can provide / video or textures I can take for you, happy to help if possible! @bob.blunderton

Looks like the update broke this mod. It freezes at the load screen.
