No it is i just made that 4 and a half years ago, which was also around the time it was leaked so its extremely awful and outdated, as is the case with like 80% of the stuff posted in this thread (with the exceptions being the old forum stuff people have forgotten about and then all those actual dirtbags who are selling stolen stuff, half of which are "pbr" "updates" of other people's already old terrible leaked mods). Drawing attention to them just gives them more clicks and downloads and ad revenue and doesn't achieve anything at this point, everyone got the idea a long while back

Something I still don't understand is how such a mod can get leaked. Like the author just slaps some model they found online on an unedited Jbeam of a vanilla car and suddenly needs beta testing for the abomination that came from that?? Shouldn't beta testing be reserved for when the mod is actually close to finished, not barely started? And also what kind of terrible workflow is that in the first place, putting the ENTIRE completely unedited Jbeam on the car and making a mess of things, instead of going bottom up like when you make a scratch made mod, so taking only the body Jbeam first and editing it to the shape, then all the other parts one by one... I admit from experience that can also get messy and you will have to revise the body Jbeam a lot to account for things you didn't expect with the other parts, but at least you know what exactly is wrong unlike when you put everything at once on the car and run into issues you have no idea how to fix, and then you release the mod in a terribly broken state and after 2 years other people start fixing it for you because you left before finishing the mod... I've seen way too many examples of that.

I think the problem is you're treating them like actual mods/projects. they're definitely not in any capacity, they are made quickly by people with not many skills for the fun of it and then they're given to a small group of "trusted" (in quotation marks because sometimes you get people (not naming names but if you remember you'll know) who then make the most of this and sell them all to ivan lochcov to be posted on modsgaming) who would also want to have a little play about with them before moving on. the literal entire (original) point of a "meshslap" is that its a quicker mod made to have a bit of fun with that isn't exactly the highest quality. I personally just made them back then because i enjoyed it and liked the idea of having new stuff to play around with in the game, and used them to learn how to make the next one better (this has sort of worked, my mods are a lot lot better than the rubbish you see on modsgaming from 2018 now but it's also taken several years.) that may not be your style of doing things and thart's fine, it's just how i personally wanted to do things. I was also literally like 13 when i started, those things were not coming from any sort of place of intelligence and even now i'd admit i did go very overboard on the quantity vs quality bit

This was the case until about 2020-2021 anyway when paid mods became a trend and suddenly a whole bunch of leeches crawled out from the woodwork to also scam russian children for these same low quality mods regardless of whether they actually made any of it themselves. 100% of these mods have stolen models and an worrying amount of them are becoming literal pirated models or ripped from intentionally locked gta files. pretty much like every single one of these people I have seen start since about 2019 have also forked all their materials from other people's (barry's) stuff and stealing from other beamng mods such as bodystyle mods seems to have become commonplace, which was always the big no go zone for my group of this stuff (borrowing official developer jbeams and stealing some gta model is one thing but nowadays people are slapping pirated 3d models ripped from independent modellers on sketchfab on modded jbeams and then sticking it up on gumroad or the vk marketplace). I've also seen a worrying amount of "pbr updates" being sold that slap a generic blank maps paint material onto someone else's mod (i saw my old terrible bentley continental with no other changes being sold like last week) without a care in the world for any sort of ethics. Same goes for those american drag/muscle car groups, slapping some generic drag abr thing and a google results v8 engine sound onto someone else's mod and posting it as your own isn't any better. Nowadays it seems like it is no longer a fun thing to make for you and a couple mates to have a little fun with and then move on, it's a full on machine designed to get money and boost egos however possible.
Rant over, the state of this stuff nowadays has been bugging me for a long long time and i've been due a good old moan about it

I didn't know about any of this, the common opinion has always been that meshslaps were made by those third party websites to generate income on ads because the more people visit those sites the more money they make, but now this makes it so much worse if most of them were stolen from other people, and now they are also selling them, what the heck

Yeah its a pretty sad state of affairs, the original original russian stuff back in like 2013 started off in a similar way and most of the time it was just russian guys trying their best to make stuff without actually having much skills or access to documentation in the early days, which is why the very old russian mods from modsgaming and the like are so varied in jbeam quality and stuff. Quite a lot of those had alright jbeams for their time, like the maz bus etc and they just haven't aged very well since the idea of quality and generally what's possible and expected with the game has skyrocketed a bit since then. Most of the people were posting their own mods to modsgaming and vk as just a way to release them, that's quite normal for russian modding communities (opposed to using the official forums or something, given they speak different languages and everything I expect they wouldn't even know this place existed) and worldofmods was the only real "reupload" site where it's alsways been literally one guy was reuploading everything he can find. Ofc there's always the admins of the sites who reuploaded the big forum mods there but that seems to also be a part of it, russians don't want to trek to official forums to search for mods so its just part of the "mod site culture" that everything can be found in one place.
This only reaaally changed in late 2017 back when the forum side of the meshslap stuff started and the private mod stuff started, then there was the reuploading and the beggars and the leakers and the whole shitshow that followed that which eventually ended up in the current state where its now a whole big thing of selling them and everything.

I do still make the occasional one but I keep that stuff well well away from the forums (my single biggest regrets with that is how I kept posting them everywhere and even accicdently started trends doing so, i deeply apologise for everything i did 2018-2019 please pretend that never happened thanks) and only post my proper high effort projects here like the yakuza stuff nowadays, which is probably how it should have been from the start really.

We Asians actually really like shared mods. The essence of private mods is just like you said: they only exist for short moments of pleasure and making videos. Around 2014, most Russians would make mods with their hearts and send them to the web. After 2017, they may find that the private mods made by EST are also good, so they habitually start using leaked mods, and in order to meet the demand, more and more people leak mods, so many sudden mods completely overturn the enthusiasm of many modders, so they also start to use leaked mods and spend very little time to make their own mods, so meshslaps appear on a large scale. I think the solution to this problem is to accept meshslaps and make them exist in this community and meet the needs of different people.

I am a Chinese. You're right, but to be precise Chinese very few get a private mod, and almost no one makes a mod. It's just that Chinese don't want to spend money on games, so many people will use Russian mods or leaked mods, and even many people don't buy genuine games. All in all, Chinese will only get the most out of it for the least amount of money.

Asian Culture of sharing. I’m not sure how I feel about accepting meshslaps but i do agree more people should be willing to share their work. I guess no matter what it is , if someone wants it badly enough they will get it leaked

Civetta Scintilla Bugatti Edition. Handling is shameful and the only use for it is to take screenshots and make the 10-year-olds go, "where dowloadns" :)

    Kennemation GT500.
I hate to admit it, but it looks good as hell
BUT, the GT500 has a supercharger, and this mod doesn't have it, and it crashes terribly. It sucks overall.
