Going the other way, you could go all the way down to the inline 3 for the lowest trim models, perhaps for extra-light duty option for places like flowershops and whatnot. Places that need alot of cargo space without any major weight capacity. Either way, getting quite far ahead of the actual development.
There is and its mostly just power. I’m from the UK and the R-Line Golf MK8 has a slightly better engine than the base with R body panels etc etc. Although VW with there SUV’s never really do just an R so it’s always an R-Line.
