tried it out in the exact same manner i would in assetto corsa, and it damaged my gears. am i just screwing it up or is it impossible in beamng?
In the gameplay options, just make sure Clutch Assistant (manual gearbox) is ticked. Simple as that! (I would have mentioned this earlier, but I got into a bit of a sticky situation in Jalopy. Blame the game, not me! )
Ah, right. Yeah... I don't think that's possible, sorry. I'll do some research to see if someone can prove me wrong.
Yes you can float gears without damaging them. You must be very precise as there are no simulated synchros ingame.
yea the damage is speed dependent in theory if you match the engine speed/wheel speed for the gear perfeclty its probably doable, heres a video demonstrating this from a while ago:
Yes, you can shift without using the clutch, it's quite difficult though. The lack of a real world shifter means that you can't slowly ease in the gear via pushing very lightly, instead when you do shift, your rpm needs to be very accurate.
Sorry i got ban but i am back now after they unban me, took a year! I did have clutch assistant enabled good call
Ah, welcome back, it's good to see you! Since you've been banned I think the Devs have added a few more gearbox settings, so you might want to check those out, see if you want them or not. I'm glad to hear I could help you though, even after nearly two years..!
I saw response you make before without logging in and realized you were right back then so i appreciate it and good to see you! i like your signature XD
Oh, right, that makes a bit more sense..! As for the signature, I just couldn't leave that one out, it made me laugh so hard! Have fun with BeamNG!
