Is it possible to save an official map with alterations as a new map? I can't see any Save As or Export function in the editor. I can save it as the official map, but all changes get wiped with an update. I have seen tutorials on how to make your own map from templates, but nothing on how to save, for example, Utah as a completely new map.
Extracting, duplicating the entire file and editing the info.json will get the map to show in the mod list and allow you to load it as its own map, however, I'm definitely missing something as attempting to load it will CTD. Would be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
I would rename the map folder nested in levels to something else. Then find replace the new path in all files of the map with notepad++ or visual studio code. For example /levels/east coast/ With /levels/new name/
I tried doing this, then zipping it up and calling it a mod, but that's just how it CTD. I didn't try leaving it in as its own default map, I'll give it a go. I know almost nothing about json so this is kind of just guesswork for me lol
