I'd definitely say that the K-Series will be getting some form of new content in the next update, whether that's a remaster or not we'll have to see. I would say that the devs might stick to the theme of remastering the Ibishu cars first though as the '89 Pessima, Covet and 200BX probably share the same/similar engines. I do doubt this to some extent though as the Pessima got new lights in this update and the 200BX got a new interior colours, which might be something to keep them fresh in the meantime whilst the the devs remaster other cars, such as the Moonhawk and Sunburst, which arguably need a remaster more than the others
Bro feels so awkward writing speculations on a thread that even developers write on. Feels like the actual answers are so close and so freaking far at the same time...
I think that the K-Series might even be the next car to get a full remaster, it's just not really done yet hence why we've not seen that much of it. Maybe they still need a suitable idea for a flagship config.
Considering some of the brightest minds in sim racing haven't figured out tyre thermals properly yet it is understandable that they are taking their time with it.
Yeah, weirder still is the fact that it is clearly designed to be a Japanese police car, going as far as to have the red lightbar, RHD, and black/white paintjob. It might be something they end up changing, especially if they plan to (hopefully) make JDM police configs of the Pessima/Sunburst
That’s the fun. Would you rather a “Developers Reveal Literally Everything About the Next Update and Give Nothing To Wonder About” thread?
I'm confident the next update is indeed Australia, tdev already confirmed it is going to be dry and warm, recently a new feature was added with a global map setting for left side driving what eases making them a lot and now we are getting vehicles like the Covet with the wheel on the wrong side, too About remasters I wonder if the T-Series is next because it is the only one that didn't get an animated shifter, but maybe that's only because the 18 gears add complexity The truck remaster could then also bring Australian roadtrains/outback versions what would be fitting with the map release
I'd love an AUDM T-series. Throw on some raised side mounted intakes and big mud flaps, and it's set.
I definitely sense a moonhawk remaster coming next update, as there have been a few minor add-ons in 0.25 and .26. there was a new taillight option in 0.25 and pbr interior in 0.26
I wonder if they will add openable doors to all cars as they remaster, or all at once. I hope we get more, (or all) soon! I had a friend over when looking at the new update and I threw myself on the floor when I saw the new doors on the Covet
I thought you had left these forums for good many, many years ago. My best guess is that all that is related to the remaster of Jungle Rock Island that has been on the works for the last few years. We've speculated plenty in regards to where it is actually located, and i think at one point the devs might have confirmed that it is an island in the pacific that had heavy japanese influences. Why is it in english? US/British Colony while still being heavily influenced by former Japanese roots, including common cars, and RHD. Just a guess ofc, but the facts fit.
Still here from time to time I guess it wouldn't be so far fetched to assume JRI is some weird Japan/US mishmash and this covet is designed to fit in with it
I thought that was weird too. Hopefully it gets changed in an update If they ever give the Pessima an RHD version I feel like it'd be a perfect fit for an NZ police paintjob since the Automation map has no police livery Pretty sure JRI is in Hawaii. And if the land was owned by Japan they'd still put Japanese text on the car since that's their national language, the English on their police cars is just for tourists.
And 200BX ! 200BX as US Police is so bad, they need to change it. Also my opinion on remastering cars: I think devs don't remaster 200BX, Pessima MK1, T-Series and Sunburst because they love them. If they start remastering them we will be waiting more than 6 months on updates because devs are nerdy same as we are so deeping into JDM super fun cars or super fun T-Series will suck them into loop hole of creating and having fun. So 6 months or more same as Scintilla...
The last page or so has been a reminder that I need to sit down and write out my big list of T-series update suggestions before the first signs of it being worked on show up. I should get on that as quickly as possible - I've been putting it off for too long.
