help with xbox controller

I have a new wired xbox controller that I cab not get to operate in game. it works in other games I have but not this one. I restarted the game, also tried reinstalling it as well. I have been reading many of the other threads here about certain input maps but I can not locate the links so I can not seem to access any of the older links for the input map. any help would be appreciated.

Is it an official microsoft controller or 3rd party? If its official, you simply plug the controller in before starting the game (it wont be autodetected after the game is launched), if its 3rd party then yes you need a custom input map matching your controllers GUID.

 

That's not true in the experimental version

 

It is a third party controller (game stop) I can't get any of the older links to work for an input map for the controller
