so ive been working on this ford transit (probably never going to release because its a meshslap) and have set the uv in blender but not the materials in the "main.materials.json" file because all the tutorials dont show it they only show the "Materials.cs" file these are some pics of it ingame pictures of the uv (im using the pickup_d file) i would like for someone to help as i said itll probably never release im just making it for myself!
--- Post updated --- should i like change so it maps to the mod or i could change the uv in blender to the van uv and put the van materials back
check the material namings in blender file, if it has .001 or .002 then that may cause it, also just copying the main.materials.json file over from the pickup will work aswell if you kept the same pickup material names
i will rename the materials now! --- Post updated --- btw which matetrial is chrome? is it grille? --- Post updated --- i could just rename it "gavril_lights" as the headlight material is --- Post updated --- how can i prevent the .001 fom happening --- Post updated --- i renamed them from "pickup.001" to "pickup1" --- Post updated --- works only for one part that has the name without a number --- Post updated --- works only for one part that has the name without a number how can i fix that?
1. for the chrome material name, check the naming in the pickup dae. 2. .001 happens because the place that you are copying a part to already has the same material as the mesh tht you are copying 3. just keep the name as pickup dont change it to pickup1 because the material.json still has the material named as pickup 4. you just fix the .001 by just going to the materials tab and pressing that circle thing next to the material name and then choosing the material that has no .001 or .002 at the end of it
ok thanks! --- Post updated --- omg! it works! thank you so much! you are the best!! --- Post updated --- now i can fix my other mods too!
btw how can i change the color of the taillights because they are always white and not red (the material of the taillights is pickup_taillightglass_R) --- Post updated --- and i changed it to red in blender --- Post updated --- picture of my other mod: as you can see its white its not a good mod and its just for my self (im not releasing it)
Maybe try changing the material to the actual taillight textures aswell as positioning the uv in blender to where the lights would light up , also just changing the color of it in blender wont help because the game depends on actual textures --- Post updated --- Also you would probably need to assign those materials to the glowmap in the car's jbeam, i dont know how to really explain. Try to google about it and look at some car's jbeam files as a refrence
ok i will do that --- Post updated --- i finally found the uv of the light colors --- Post updated --- textures are set but its still white ingame
