update: -Completely remodelled dashboard area. -Completely remodelled interior-carpet layer. -Completely remodelled doorpanels. -Completely remodelled rear seats. -Completely remodelled rear seat-pockets. -Improved steering wheel and front seat models. The proportions of these are all using GT models for reference meaning they should look pretty close to IRL. No UVs or textures yet. old model: new models: Spoiler: more pictures -Smoothed gap between front fenders and hood. -Added optional aero parts back in-game. -Modified front suspension jbeam to handle oversteer better. Btw does anyone have stock S15 ackermann values? I can't find them anywhere online.
yeah, it's still gonna be a while since theres tons of stuff to do, here's my current to-do list Spoiler: to-do list -add small details and finalise the model -model all stock parts left other then wheels (all the optional stuff from the optional part catalogue) -put optional parts ingame -add all stock engine part variations (autech, non turbo, different colour tops) -work on jbeams: finalise torque curves for all variations, make engine parts spin in-game, reposition nodes to match model -UV unwrap everything (other then headlights and tails since those are textured) according to a set of materials matching vanilla cars -work on jbeams: realign suspension (again), stiffen body to match S15s raised chassis stiffness, tune brakes, fix driveshaft spinning wildly -work on suspension 3d models: make sure they’re accurate to the s15 and deform correctly -make all the textures for the car in substance including all color variations (avoid baking, use substance for each texture set) -add proper break groups, add working turn signals, add steering wheel, add materials ingame -model and texture stock wheels -add stock wheels ingame -make configs for stock variations -maybe send the mod to a few people to test handling -make sure all parts work together with minimal stress, if they don’t then improve the jbeams -rename stuff to avoid collision/no-texture in future updates -reduce file size and cleanup jbeams and console errors -maybe some sort of prerelease/beta (most likely closed i’m afraid) -start on aftermarket parts if all stock parts are around 90% complete, focus on the requested aftermarket parts (yashio factory, cut bumper, liberty walk etc) and then move to parts you wanna make. -add liveries -finalise all aftermarket parts and bake textures if necessary -prepare for release on forums: make a release trailer if you feel like it, make some really nice photos and a few blender renders, make a good forum page -relez mod on forums
Hooh. might forget about this Silvia S15 forum in like a few months cuz I'm busy myself. With life, Studies and etc. It's hard for me to squeeze time for my gaming sessions these days
update: My laptop charger failed this morning and I won’t be able to get a new one until atleast next week. This sucks cause I’m gonna have loads of time this week but I won’t be able to use it on the s15. Everything will be back to normal when(if) I get a new one in a week or so. Before it broke I managed to do some stuff tho (no pictures since they’re all on my laptop which doesn’t have battery): -got interior models in-game with updated customisation. You can now remove the bottom section of the dash or replace the center console with an aftermarket one (no aftermarket parts yet tho). -updated front suspension with real s15 steering angles (pretty happy with handling rn on keyboard, haven’t tested wheel yet tho) -made rear diff more accurate -finished interior carpet layer model -added details to trunk model -solidified some parts -improved shading on fenders(again) and quarter panels
it was my charger this time, but my battery actually also failed (probably from overheating) a few months ago, luckily i could still use the laptop though since it worked while plugged in
