So at the moment, Im trying to make a meshlap mod with this toyota voxy 3d model I found. I have seperated all the body parts of the car and renamed them and have gotten it into Beamng however I have no idea how to get everything else to work. I did a bit of research but its really confusing. Im hoping to create a jbeam for it i manage to get everything else to work. So my questions are: - How do I add textures, material and pbr to the car like the paint, buttons, interior materials and windows? - How do I increase the scale of the car without messing up the wheel positions? The scale of the car is a bit too small at the moment however I cant increase the length of the wheel base of the original car frame that im using? - How do I get the guages to work? - How do I add new rims into the game? The 3d model comes with the cars stock rims and I would like to get them into the game as well. - How do I get the indicator stalks, steering wheel, shifter, pedals, and sat nav into the right position in game? I have it positioned perfectly in Blender however these parts are all in the wrong place in game. This is my first time making a car in beamng so any help or advice on the mod would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I did find a Noah GR 3D model so I will add it if I manage to finish the voxy that im currently working on but its my first time so I dont even know if I'll be able to finish the voxy.
Saw many of these when i was on vacation in georgia recently, it looks nicely ngl. Though i saw something controversional in the screenshots - the V1 GridMap. Is it a mod or is your game pirated? I hope i don't seem rude.
Interesting, didnt know they existed in Georgia. Also no my game isnt pirated, the v1 gridmap can be downloaded here https://www.beamng.com/resources/gridmap.18681/
What should be more controversial instead is that the OP likely based this Voxy mod off of the second generation Ibishu Kashira mod. You can clearly see the mesh names with "reziavan" in the Blender screenshots he provided. So far, it is the only public BeamNG mod to feature functional sliding doors. And to the OP, did you ask for permission from either Re:Z_IA or Car_Killer before using the Kashira's JBeam structure? I don't want to sound rude or anything, but I did not hear anything about that at all (especially since I have updated the Kashira mod recently), so please clarify this.
Yes I did base it off the second generation kashira as it seemed to be the closest car I can find. And no I did not ask for permission and neither will I have to as I haven't released it for others to download so I do not see anything wrong here.
if you're at all intending to release it though, wouldn't it be smart to just make sure they're happy with you nicking their work before you spend all this time modifying it?
Well, all of them are japanese imports, there are lots of JDM cars in Georgia (by JDM i don't mean japanese sports cars, i mean cars made for the japanese market). Anyways, thanks for answering my question.
Well its extremely unlikely that this mod will ever get finished and released as this is my first time doing it and I have no idea what to do which is why I posted it here to ask for help. It doesnt matter whos work im using as i havent released this mod. Also I can always change the jbeam and body frame to another car by just renaming the parts. It would be much more useful if people can give me some advice and some help on the mod instead of saying im nicking stuff. --- Post updated --- Yea im just surprised they have jdm cars over there in georgia. I always thought these jdm's were only in asia and russia.
If you mean ask about this mod then i have already asked at the top of the thread. Or do you mean something else?
Already said that this mod will unlikely to be finished so theres no point asking unless im sure its gonna be released.
First of all. Use the Vivace as base, since it is both larger, more modern and is also a hatchback. The sliding door thing you can change later
Well the sliding door isnt the problem, I dont plan to make opening doors either. Ive tried the vivace before and its a bit too small and so is the kashira but Ive chosen the kashira because of the shape of the car. I dont know how to increase the wheelbase of the vehicle im basing it on either. On the kashira based one, Ive scaled down the voxy to fit the kashira chassis which makes the car really small but it puts the wheels in the right place. Heres a photo of what it looks like on the vivace chassis after I scaled the voxy to approximately the right size. --- Post updated --- At the moment, the textures and materials are the bigger problem as I have no idea how to add them. I'll also need to fix the scale, add a proper engine, the stock wheels but I have no idea how to do these either. The tutorials online are outdated and I cant seem to find an up to date tutorial on these things. Also the voxy is a van so its a different shape thats closer to the kashira and is much larger than the vivace. The vivace being modern only makes the chassis stronger but since the jbeam wont fit, its not gonna make any difference.
You can use node move on the suspensions, so you can change the wheelbase. Also, the vivace has exactly the same parts as this van, apparently.
I have no idea what the node is and how to use it. Its my first time doing this so I only know how to get the 3d model into the game as a meshlap. Also what do you mean the vivace has the same parts?
The vivace has front and rear quarter Windows, a tailgate and every part that this van has, just with a different shape
