Small Update: Fixed Errors Updated a few wall-textures to PBR I got the map up on the repository. This and all future updates can be found here: https://www.beamng.com/resources/mbwr-alps.23068/
Oh man this is so cool! Actually I was thinking about this map since I discovered that maps from other games can be converted, it was maybe 4 year ago. Awesome. Maybe I should have tried to lear to do it myself, was it hard to do this conversion? I remember at that time I posted something in this formu, but people said that it is pretty difficult to do.
Here some info what I did: For the Alps map I used ninja ripper to get the model, and I hacked the MBWR view range with cheat-engine so I can get the whole map at once. Sadly, that process loses all blending information, buildings are mostly ok, but the terrain, and road textures are wrecked… But it was enough to get a high map render from the terrain, and the building models. I got the base color map from a top-down render in Krom’s StKit2. The problem with that process is, I can only get maps from MBWR that where ported to WR2… So, it wasn’t exactly trivial xD Since that process was so limited and annoying: With the help of the source code of Krom’s WR2 tools, I got the WR2 and CT1&2 formats, and could reverse engineer the other games based on that. I used the last weeks to write a tool that can export the maps directly to blender, (and between all the synetic games). Still a lot of work to do, but the basics already work. Btw how World-Racing and Beam handle terrain is completely incompatible from a technical point, that’s why even without broken blending, that terrain transformation process is necessary. But with that program, I will at least be able to get basecolor-maps without StKit2, which only really works for WR2… The mess i got from 3D ripper: What my converter is curently doing: (still no textures, but material, uv-maps and blending information are there) Hope some of you fand that interesting xD
Hi, would it be possible for you to have a non-PBR version of this map? Those textures don't work through Proton/Wine (aka they don't work on Linux) and always appear as black. If it's not possible for workflow reasons I understand.

Wow this is spectacular! I will have to try this today after work. I spent A LOT of time on MBWR, over 9 years & a new profile each year. One year had over 100,000km on it. I made extensive logs of every ttip from 1 Jan 2006 to the last time I used it which is currently 21 Feb last year, currently nearly 250,000km. Any chance please the next port could be that of the Test Centre? Looking at my logs I for did 4818km over Alps scenarios, versus 168019 on the Test Centres, including one day where I did 1000 laps of TC2, or 3572.1km! Thank you for your hard work, much appreciated being able to add permenance/futureproofing to our memories.
Just been for my first drive. Quite weird to be in 'both games at once'! Initially felt like BNG, then evolved into more like WR. Overall really authentic & enjoyable - you have pulled it off very well A few trees popping in & out near the small enclosed village & there is a long trianglular hole in the shorter of the 2 long straight road tunnels. Overall excellent work.
wait, didnt u post a poll about what map should come next? maybe im blind but i cant find it, mb if u never even did one and im trippin bad rn lmao
Sorry way to much work, i basicly would have to redo all materials Lets just hope the devs bring native linux support soon ^^ btw i tought they already did something this update (0.25)? --- Post updated --- here xD
When I saw this map in the repository my heart almost stopped, it was a blast from the past! Absolutely thrilled to see it in the BeamNG. Thank you very much! Also nice work, even the snow parts are there.
I figured I should report a missing face mesh I found in the freeway tunnel section. This is on the latest version at the time of writing this. Again, congratulations on getting the Alps map approved on the repository
SUGGESTION This map is amazing! However, I'd like to point out that there is brids churping ambience in the tunnels which shouldn't be there, and the sound quality of this churping sounds low-quality, so would be cool if it's updated. Really love how you added the felling sound at the sawmill.
BUG i used the map today and everything was fine, until i played beamng drive again and spawn on the map, there's no road anymore, any advices ? thanks View attachment 927022
I will look into it ^^ seems youre terrain is completly gone, Not many ideas except clearing cache and redownloading map
Agree on the birds in tunnels & lack of reverb, but these would be icing on the cake & are not essential to a working, entirely usable map.
