No it does not, and there is no motor sound at all so its ignoring/having errors with it. It also doesnt show anything under the Wheel Overview, even though there are clearly wheels. Im sure its something im doing wrong, there isnt a whole lot of info on the wiki at the moment, so im just going off of looking at Gabe's vehicles and figuring it out myself.
Eh sounds like you've left the area of knowledge I have with this stuff. Hopefully someone much more experienced than me can help you out with it. Beautiful jbeam structure though good work man!
Yeah we were all messing with it for a couple hours one night, no one could figure it out. As i stands though i solved the motor issue simply by creating a new file, and copying everything over to it, not it works without an issue... I really dont have any idea, super bizarre. But now im having another annoying issue no one seams to able to solve, where the hydraulics either explode, or completely compress on spawn, with no ability to steer. ALL hydraulics pull inwards, regardless of the direction they are supposed to be going (so they arent all steering one direction like its a controller issue or something, reversing the hydro has no effect, it still completely compresses on spawn) Its like precompression is set to 0 or something, however it is very clearly set to 1 in the hydro section itself (as well as several other places in the jbeam). Im sure its something stupid but i have no idea... Code: "hydros": [ ["id1:","id2:"], {"beamPrecompression":1.0,"beamSpring":1200000,"beamDamp":40,"beamDeform":56000,"beamStrength":1020000}, ["118","115",{"factor":-0.28,"steeringWheelLock":650,"lockDegrees":25}], ["58","50",{"factor":0.28,"steeringWheelLock":650,"lockDegrees":25}], ["12","6",{"factor":-0.28,"steeringWheelLock":650,"lockDegrees":25}], ["120","117",{"factor":0.28,"steeringWheelLock":650,"lockDegrees":25}], ],
I had that problem as well, turns out the nodes I had the steering connected to, were 'unstable' apparently, I redone all of the beamSping/damp/strength etc on the whole vehicle, which seemed to fix it. Really annoying bug though, I spent days trying to fix it, nothing worked.
Ahhh I can't wait for this! Looks good man, just keep up the good work and take your time. I'd rather wait for something like this to be perfectly done rather than half assed an crappy.
Hey guys, still here! Just have a lot of work going on at the moment. I actually finally just had some time to get BeamNg downloaded on steam, currently getting some of the awesome mods you guys have created to try out This is by no means cancelled, and likely never will be. I chip away at it when i have time, itll be finished eventually im sure! Honestly id love to see some sort of better modders outlet, steam workshop or something similar, before i release. But if not ill still release it here. Glad to see people are still interested in it!
this looks mint! as if we wouldn't be interested anymore. could you still upload more progress reports so this doesn't go to the bottom of list of forums?
Theres really nothing to post you havent already seen. No matter what i do i cant get the node beam to be stable (or at least, thats what i think the problem is) The hydros dont work at all, that is when i can get them not to explode or pull in on spawn. The shock are either completely rigid, or break immediately, and although the motor powers the tires, i have no sound or anything else, and no feedback from the game (rpms and what not). Ive tried using node weight, scale, and beam values from other vehicles of similar type (the scarab and what not) to no avail. more or less how its always been. Theres a silly issue somewhere, i just havent found it yet
My part done hopefully you can pick up where I left off, may I suggest using seperate slots for the suspension in different jbeam files? They're grouped with the frame at the moment which makes some weird deformation.. Sent a pm
