"Filters" setting is very important for controller player. For very quick steering/accelerate input, it is often advised to use Wheel(Direct) even if you are using a non-FFB analog controller, to benefit from zero lag. Since I purchase the game and all the way before 0.25 I always use this setting. Bind my controller's steering axis and using "Wheel(Direct)" (formerly "Direct") filter, and set the Filters setting as above, for tarmac racing. For gravel racing, uncheck the Limit steering at speed while continue using Wheel(Direct) to get the fastest countersteer speed and perform the Scandinavian flick at lightning speed. Gamepad filter is too slow. Now in 0.25, the "Reduce steering at high speed" is moved to the "Gameplay" secton, alongside the "Oversteer reduction assistant". This means it's not possible to use "Reduce steering at high speed" when the filter of the steering control binding is set to "Wheel (Direct)". This makes driving the Civetta Scintilla very difficult. If Wheel(Direct) is being used, then there's no "Reduce steering at high speed", steering at high speed can easily unsettle the car. If Gamepad is used, the response speed of the player's controller input is damped, regardless of the"Reduce steering at high speed" is on or off, thus making "catching" snap oversteer very difficult.
The idea behind this simplification was to make the UI easier to understand, and to reduce the large workload that every extra option piles on top of our QA team. But I understand your concern, I'll see what I can do.
just registered to say, that's biggest mistake to remove old filters lol dear dev team, pls try to high-speed steering on xbox controller or any another gamepad and you easily understand it xd
I plan to include a new checkbox on each assistant, that would allow to use each of them also for Direct-Wheel bindings. Would that be enough, or does that still not cover all your use cases? (I'd rather not have to overcomplicate and multiply these settings 4x, per filter type)
Just a heads up, today's 0.25.2 minor update includes this change which allows what you requested. It was originally not in its changelog but I've added it now. Please test, and if that's still not working like you expected, do let me know
Hello. I too am un able to find it. All it says is Bindings, Force Feedback and Hardware. And is there anymore ways I can turn down the sensitivity more I have it all the way at 0 and it still turns a bit too snappy for me.
