Would be closer to a modern GT2

FIA GT3 cars at the moment are generally BoP'ed around 550hp, and weight is usually BoP'ed above 1400kg, but the aerodynamic loads produced in modern equipment let the cars pull just above 2Gs (lateral) sustained at times.
I'm not as familiar with GT2 (newer class and all), but it's meant to be less expensive than GT3 (backup plan for SRO and similar in case FIA changes GT3 to become unsustainable), and regulated so aero doesn't get out of hand as in GT3 at the moment. Yes GT2 cars are overall slower than GT3 cars, but quicker down a straight as I believe they are BoP'ed with more power and have less aerodynamic drag.

I was reading the release notes and wondered what the rolled over API that was added was for. I guess it's used for pyrotechnically detonating the doors when the Scintilla is rolled over. Though, it's a bit odd how it also works on the convertible versions.

Apparently the tires are not overpowered, according to my find in the common zip.
The All Season Tire have "frictionCoef":1.0, "slidingFrictionCoef":1.0 and "treadCoef":0.55, the Sport Plus 2R has "frictionCoef":1.0, "slidingFrictionCoef":1.0 and "treadCoef":0.4. In comparison, the "generic" tires Standard has "frictionCoef":1.0, "slidingFrictionCoef":1.0 and "treadCoef":0.7 and Sport "frictionCoef":1.0, "slidingFrictionCoef":1.0 and "treadCoef":0.7. And Race tires from both are "frictionCoef":1.03, "slidingFrictionCoef":1.0 and "treadCoef":0
    I'm stupid.

Friction coef (static and sliding one) is NOT what defines the tire friction properties. It only works for normal car parts, for the tires it just multiplies whatever you set elsewhere and it's 99% of the time set as 1.0. In case of tires the values that matter are:
noLoadCoef - "The friction coefficient with no normal force on the tire (highest possible coef)"
loadSensitivitySlope - "Determines the rate that friction coef drops off as normal force is added. Acts per node, in coef/Newton of normal force"
fullLoadCoef - "Minimum friction coef. Adding more normal force will not decrease the friction any more than this"
softnessCoef - "Influences the time variant friction behavior. Max value of 1 makes the tire more like soft racing slick rubber"

Ok, they are overpowered, even the all season tires have their softnessCoef 1, not to mention the slightly higher fullLoadCoef

No load: Standard 1.34, Sport 1.54, All Season 1.39 Sport Plus 2R 1.49
Full load: Standard 0.5, Sport 0.5, All Season 0.65 Sport Plus 2R 0.65
    Softness: Standard 0.7, Sport 0.7, All Season 1 Sport Plus 2R 1

So they are like racing slicks with treads basically? Interesting

I'm a bit disappointed. One of the purposes of universal tires is to compare vehicle performance equally. Now the Scintilla uses OP tires while other vehicles use generic tires, makes people hard to distinguish that whether the Scintilla is really better because of its platform, or simply better tires are being used on it.

The adjustable wing seems to be the only one that provides effective downforce, with the others the rear end is extremely unstable and I find myself spinning out alot

    Edit: Using the race config

i igree...i play with a gamepad, and maybe with a steering weell the feel its different, but the adjustable wing its the only one that make the car drivable. With the others wings even easy high speed corner feel terrible.almost always resulting in a spin

I play with a G27 and its pretty much the same. In actual fact the faster the corner the worse it is. I'm sure they're looking into it now. Such a brilliant car to drive otherwise :D

Re: Tires, the scintilla uses a realistic equivalent of what such cars use irl. These days, supercars basically come with street legal semislicks from the factory. Think Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R etc

Hydrolock levels are too low on supercharged intakes. This drowned in shallow water:

I’m thinking it’s a BeamNG in house showcase design.

Little weird question: is the Dark* Owl stunt car meant to be the hero car (like a Batmobile of sorts) or does it belong to a villain/secondary character?

I originally wanted to draw a full body shot of the Dark Owl dude, but screw that, I spent over an hour in the head alone.

So if I read this correctly, the new tires actually have less "static" grip than the existing sport tires, but lose less grip under load, which results in higher actual grip in hard cornering?
