Update Speculation thread

I'm not even sure the Covet remaster is coming in 0.25, the devs haven't really said anything at all about it since they teased it, although an update with only one new and fairly niche car and some technical updates would be kind of disappointing after this long so we'll just have to see.

 

We'll probably see one more dev image of the Covet before the release if they intend to add it in 0.25.x, that and/or maybe something else that they're tossing in to show more than just those 2 cars. Also since the only 4 images shown all seem to be 1 trim of the car (Mr Turbo).
I feel a phase 1 remaster of another car might be underway and I'm thinking 1989 Pessima since that car is closely related to the Covet. Whether the Covet comes in 0.25.0 more so than 0.25.1 or vice versa I can't really say for sure.

they gave us two screenshots with very clearly revised headlight/taillight models/textures.

I see aboslutely no reason why they would make the Mr Turbo for the existing covet in its current state.

This isn't a question of "is a full remaster planned," but of whether it's coming in 0.25. I think a lot of people would be disappointed if it didn't, because an update with just one car and no other new content after nearly 7 months is... kind of pants. On the other hand, they probably wouldn't release it without at least partially remastering the old Pessima, although that car needs significantly less work in my opinion, maybe even just a question of updating textures and drivetrain models.

I'd guess that we'll get the update on Wednesday since we were told that it will come some time around mid week and thursday is a holiday in Germany and Friday some companies in Germany also have holidays due to a so called Brückentag so we may get it Wednesday, Saturday or maybe even Friday depending on whether BeamNG GmbH does Bridge Days or not

 

Creator Program Updated again. Possibly a more stable build if they found bugs ( means mid week may not happen )


OR its the More public build ( just before we get it anyway )

But this is either a very good sign or a very bad one. IMO

BUT seeing stable ( more so even latest ) was NOT updated first. AND the fact Tdev himself said it will be TIHS week. I have a good feeling.

 

I just mean I'm much more curious to see the Scintilla than the Covet.

It's clearly a Scintilla but those 10 pixels are not enough to know anything more than it's black

For sure. That's why it was pushed back to this tuesday-wednesday, it was probably meant to come a few weeks sooner

 

Curious if they'll do any early trailer drops like they've done with previous updates...
