I counted, that's 1 pixel off I think it might actually be the Civetta the Civetta, in which case I am going to drive it off a cliff at 200 mph. 2000th post, also is anyone going to question why the modified dates for both files are in 2020? Also also, I retract what I said about the Civetta not being in 0.25 - why would Diamondback tease it, and not even on a Tuesday, if it weren't coming up next?
I mean, does this even qualify as an actual teaser? I don't wanna spark another "WhErE tEaSeRe??!?!?" wave but I reckon we could still get a proper teaser tomorrow
"Civetta Civetta" sounds more like a certain species of tortoise we Greeks have in our seas, and it isn't much of a good representative of a Supercar brand since tortoises aren't exactly quick/fast plus the new Civetta isn't amphibious (not without any mods, at least). Of course, I could be wrong since "Civetta" is Italian for "Owl", so... --- Post updated --- LeBig! Or TheGran!
TheTall instead of TheBig would be better.. they not called it LeGros. Ontopic now, for the name of the car, I thinks that the Fulmine's name was kept for a future new 60s 70s Civetta, and there is a totally new name for this one. (or these two, maybe) However, it will be definitely an Italian name, but which one? i dont know.. Cometa, Corsa, Temporale or even Velocita/Veloce are my bet for his name, but this is based on personal feeling only. (with a huge foreboding for Veloce) (space/atmospheric themed name, like the fulmine=lighting and bolide=meteorite, are the most likely option in my opinion)
Well, it looks like they're more interested in stoking the flames than pouring water on them... alright, I'll play along 0.25 this week, I'm calling it
I rarely hold on to the hype train, but I'm calling it too. This Friday- don't know why, but I'm sure of it.
the ambient occlusion looks way better. under the car is evenly dark and it seems pretty detailed on the wheel spokes
i'm wondering if the darker shadows are something to do with the autoexposure stuff which brotherdave found.
One thing I just noticed is that the shadows inside the cabin look really clean- usually the interior of vehicles, when seen from the outside, always look a bit washed out, as a result of the glass for some reason or another, (check your screenshots, everyone, you'll see what I mean), and It appears that that washed out effect is gone and replaced with crisp dark shadows!
i agree the AO looks much better, tried to recreate it in Photo Mode to change the SSAO but its not easy/possible to get a similar look, itll still look detached right below the car. Tdev did say that when the Vulkan API is working they can release a bunch of gfx stuff but i doubt itll be this release judging by how buggy the last one seemed. Also it doesnt look like the discord screenshot uses a different tonemap. Hyped for the next 2 updates
I'm willing to bet it's the new graphics that's taken 0.25 so long, I mean it isn't exactly easy to wedge top-tier modern visuals into a creaky old engine like Torque3D, and frankly I'm impressed the team has gotten this far without switching to Unreal like everyone else
"LeGros" sounds a lot like "LaCrosse"! Yes, the Fulmine name was planned to be used in a 60s Civetta model that never came to be. As I already wrote, I'd love the new Civetta supercar to be called the "Fulmine" because it's gonna create a symbolic link between it and the Bolide ("Fulmine" and "Bolide" have something in common - they both describe two natural phenomena involving light, high speeds and high temperatures), enhancing the brand identity even further. (My 1000th message! Yay! )
