Only? The GT2 RS is the fastest street legal car at the Nordschleife, just because the SBR has more power doesn't mean it can make the best of it
Is it fair to believe that once 0.25 has been released, which seems to be a big one, that 0.26 will be released in 3 months which also seems to be a big one? Tdev said they are trying to go back to 3 months but that 0.25 has taken some time. Id say that 0.26 might be delayed too but that theyre aiming to release it 3 months after 0.25. Nonetheless two big ones we can all look forward to!
I think tdev said that I’d be a completely new map, didn’t he? --- Post updated --- Oh yeah, for me the etk k trackday is the best handling car in the game, great cornering, very well balanced, more oversteer than understeer tho and no hard lift- off oversteer
Would be a fairly simple implementation I would assume, and would add a bit more environmental depth to the game. On the subject of water, anybody else remember how water would drip off of cars in Rigs of Rods after they'd been in it? That'd be a nice touch to have in Beam.
I Think they are almost done with 0.25 already for release, but most of the stufff they were working on got delayed so they pushed that stuff to 0.26 so that they get the extra 3 months for final development. and the 0.25 with the Covet Remaster might be a relatively small update (the new civetta isn't even confirmed for this update, I Think the 0.26 premise for tire thermals would be an excellent add on for that car and I wouldn't be mad if we only get it in 0.26)
i love the physics in beamng, they are the reason I invested 2000 $ into my sim racing setup and I dont even play other sims. Still I feel like that especially the fast cars are alot harder to drive than in other sims. I have no real track experience (well except for karting...), the only fast car i have ever driven is a KTM X-Bow on the street but imo cars are a bit more forgiving irl.
It's a bit hard to compare lap times of racing sim with the real life as there is a factor of fear or 'self-preservation'. You won't cut corners in real life on Nürburgring as in BeamNG. For example it is nice to try in AC to get Alonso's r25 and try to match his 2005 quali time at Spa. After few tries you will get very close to his lap time.
Ideally we'd need to compare it to other sims, and as of now, the aerodynamic model of BeamNG and lack of a proper GT3 car to test those things are our limitations, the hillclimb variants produce a LOT of downforce, and with the debug tools I can't even see if the underbody downforce has any effect at all, it's majorly the wings. Also, The current model makes no Difference in radiator cooling if theres more airflow for the radiator (also intercoolers like the bolide (you can fit the turbos in the old body without the side intakes for the intercoolers and the turbos don't get affected or heatsoaked)
Upcoming features confirmed by tdev: Ropes/Winches New map - Very sunny and dry, maybe Australia? Tire thermals confirmed for 0.26 Dirt accumulation Scratches/burn marks/other visuals still in development Career mode coming 0.27 Humanoid pedestrians are low-priority but not completely off the table I loved this q&a session. It's great to see a dev team that listens to their community like this. Keep up the great work guys
This, Beamng is the only game i play and will be the only reason i upgrade my computer hardware. Tbh i cant put the finger on whats missing but im stuck at believing its a mere force feedback thing. Its much harder to drive on the limit in Beam, compared to some of the other competative sims ive played through the years. Ive got plenty of driving experience, owned a bunch of Skylines, rx7 and so on. The latest car i drove was a R35 GTR on track at a invitation thing from Nissan. I can say that the detail in Beams ffb is great but again, i feel somewhat disconnected from the car or more the rear of the car.
hi tdev , i have a question i always tought the gen1 pessima was a japanese - designed peugot 405 / 406 but i clearly wanna know : on what car is the gen1 pessima based on ?
It's a mix of the late-80s Camry and Accord models with a bit of the late-80s 626 thrown in the mix as well, due to its 4WS.
this is great, man. the option of taking a look in q&a messages for better understanding of the game and / or to better speculate what is coming didn't even flew over my mind. We definitely need to make better use of this tool
This is great but I think you forgot Mr. T and the new Civetta Seriously though, this is really cool!
