Hi Long time lurker/player, first time poster. I'm seriously considering creating an E-Sports League within BeamNG.Drive and I was seeking your input. I know initially Beam doesn't feel like the best fit for E-Sports, but frankly the driving dynamics are far superior to even actual racing sims and the softbody physics adds a whole new element for the viewer. Plus, there can be multiple leagues for different disciplines, like rally, offroading, grip racing, drifting, demo derby and so on. Also, the fact Beam's designed for users to add new content to the game means theres infinite possibilities in the future. I feel like this game's been majorly slept on just because it doesn't have native multiplayer (yet at least). My very rough plan is to base the league initially on the vanilla game using BeamMP or KissMP to host the races (I plan to test both for stability and just use whichever comes up best). Players can enter by posting a YouTube video of a timed event, and emailing a link to me. The top players will then compete in multiplayer races leading to a live final in an arena (COVID permitting). I'm gonna contact YouTubers and sponsors, and try to get enough backing to make the prize money decent. Also gonna email the devs of the game and get their support too before moving forward, this is just a testing-the-waters kinda post. Anyway, let me know your opinions and if you see any major flaws in the idea. Thank you
Yeah I'm hoping if it picks up steam it'll result in us having the abillity to make content for the repository too, I'm still figuring out rules and stuff, and working on a website/forum, but it's 100% going ahead at this point. Once we have some sponsors and stuff, we can make custom skins for the car. Yeah I'm hoping its as cool IRL as in my head LOL WIP Website for y'all to peep. I'm just using Wix to plan it, gonna build a proper website on a proper domain eventually. It just gives some more information and such. Anyway, thanks for the support everyone, it's good to know the community is behind it!
Quick update for everyone New forum and site is now live at beamchampionships . c1 . biz For some reason the forum claps that domain, but not the Wix one. Site still very WIP, don't judge too hard
this is super cool might join the derby league also KISSMP is more stable and doesn't cost money to create a server, i reccomend using that
