Yes, the most over-done idea in existence, done once again for your viewing pleasure. Options available are the 2.0L Flat 4 and the 2.5 Flat 4 with the same stats as the SBR engines. Pictured Below (2.5L Turbo) The idea behind this mod was to create the most inclusive Flat 4 swapped Hirochi Sunburst in existence. So far, bar the transmissions (and maybe some miscellaneous stuff that couldn't be transferred to the sunburst for obvious reasons) are included and available to play with. The swaps are available under a new Unibody (Because I had to mess with the front suspension as well as the engine bay crap to make this engine work with the sunburst) The front suspension changes include a mount for the engine. This was the best solution I could come up with regarding how to mount the engine to the vehicle. There were a *lot* of fitment related issues with this engine. So many that I actually had to scale the engine down slightly so it could fit in width wise. Pictured Below - Engine Mounts Pictured Below - Frame Rail x Flat 4 Fitment Now, onto the fun stuff. The engines themselves have a few extra options that I added because I thought they'd be nice additions. They also have most of the stock parts (other than transmissions) that were originally on the SBR engines. First things first, a head gasket option. I decided to play into the meme that Flat 4 engines always blow head-gaskets. Now ofc, I don't actually believe this is true, some engines just come with negative connotations and playing into the meme is just entertaining and a little bit of fun. You can either have a stock Head Gasket or a Blown one. Which makes the car ploom smoke out of the exhaust and engine bay area. Pictured Below - Head Gasket Options. As for the other additional parts. Blow Off Valves. IRL you get to pick an aftermarket BOV so I decided the same choice should be available for these engines. (especially since the WRX's IRL can have some really nice sounding ones.) The options are as follows: (All sounds are stock game samples) No BOV - Turbo Flutter Sample No BOV Loud - Unrealistically Loud (But Fun) Turbo Flutter Sample Factory Stage 1 BOV - Used with the TT S Twin Turbochargers - Standard BOV Sample Factory Stage 2 BOV - Slightly louder, used with the TT S2 Twin Turbo Chargers - Standard BOV Sample Loud BOV - Unrealistically Loud (But Fun) Standard BOV Sample. Models for these will be created at some point. Pictured Below - BOV Options New Exhausts. Pictured Below - Slightly Edited Standard Sunburst Exhaust (Main Changes are at the front) Pictured Below - Iconic looking huge cannon tip. Rest of the changes are at the front. But yeah. Hope ya'll like this. Most of the other options are just carried straight over from the SBR, nothing particularly worth mentioning. Other transmissions are planned but right now only the 6-Speed Manual Transmission exists. Video showing the options and my spirited driving on the Industrial Site map. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Thanks for reading
I'll look into making that a possibility. It should be compatible though. As in you could have both mods on at the same time and it wouldn't clash with it and cause a bug.
Added Transmission Options for the 2.5 / 2.0 (same for both) the 7 Speed DCT's didn't make the cut as the display doesn't support them (& also clearly 6 is enough for the sunburst) Gonna start working on configurations now Checked for compatibility and its all good No issues that i've found. I'm also thinking about making a separate optional modification to add the 2.0L Flat 4 and 2.5L Flat to the cars in this pack too. Just need to ask for permission
Posted an update to fix the issues with the induction system becoming broken under heavy boost / launches Its currently awaiting approval.
WIP Tis gonna take a while as I basically have to re-do the entire swap with the new engine/transmission model
All sorted now, will be releasing over the weekend. (Or maybe Friday Evening, depends how busy I am) Basically all the 3D related stuff as been completely re-done. Only kept bits like the battery & some of the engine-bay crap. New Engine (From 0.25 SBR4 | Edited to fit) New Radiator (From 0.25 SBR4 | Edited to fit) NA model now also has a more realistic looking intake. I also separated the radiator fan and made it functional on both available radiators
know this thread has been inactive for a while but i really liked this mod however its broken now (i think due to an update) i can rev it but cant shift into gear plus its not showing the rev counter or torque figures (ui apps)
An update for this mod is pending approval, read the change notes below. Change log: Fixed for whichever version of the game broke it. Sorry for the *insert number of months here* wait. I also have some improved models waiting to be put into the game, most important of which is an updated better-flowing twin turbo kit. It will most likely be a while before this is added in an update, but i wanted to show it so ya'll know that I have more plans for this mod, just no time to implement them. xD
Hey so idk if it's just me, but after the update steering wheel is invisible, at the stock body works tho.
I know, this is due to the latest game version, I need to adjust the body jbeam to fix it. Please be patient.
A new update is pending approval, changelog is below: Change Log: 0.28 Support (Updated Unibody Node/Beam Structure) Completely Overhauled Both Engines Node/Beam Structure. (Re-done entirely as it was terrible) (There's now also an exhaust manifold node) Updated Exhausts to Support New Engine Node/Beam Structure. (They now also attach to the engine properly thanks to the addition of the exhaust manifold node.) Updated Turbo Kit Model (The piping is now less restrictive)
This mod is one of my favorites. Have you through of adding a cvt? To really make it seem like a Subaru...
I'm glad you like it. I don't have any plans to add a CVT at the moment. Just bug fixes & small updates really. If I ever do decide to expand upon the mods functionality though a CVT will be at the top of my to-do list. If you have any other requests / ideas though please feel free to reply to the thread with your suggestions
