Hello and welcome, to what is hopefully a fun series of threads about the BeamNG vehicles & their unique traits which makes them stand out from other in-game cars! Depending on the community reception, there will be more threads like this, especially for upcoming vehicles. I'm back after a small "vacation" after totally not forgetting about this series Here is some fun facts about the Ibishu Covet: First hatchback to be added to the game The nitrous bottle can be stored either in the trunk or in passenger footwell Only vehicle to have unique configs like "The Skidplate" & "Student Driver" First vehicle to receive an official engine swap from another ingame vehicle (Pessima's 2.0L) With the usage of nitrous, it is the most powerful I4 engine in game (~1140HP) Only vehicle to have more than one 'Special Edition' config, one of which uses the Pessima 2.0L engine It was the first FWD car to have a rally config Due to the 2.0L engine swap, the Covet has received a hood with a "power bulge" Only Japanese car to have bumpers made by Okudai With the last update to the car, it has received some drag racing additions, like air intakes instead of headlights, a unique hood-exit exhaust, cut rear bumper with speed holes, hatch spoiler & first ever ballast plate Feel free to add some fun facts of your own
It probably has the worst quality interior textures of all vehicles currently lol, thankfully that will change soon
I wouldn't call it an engine swap, since the GTz is meant to be a factory trim. also, wouldn't that title go to the hopper's Gavril V8 anyway?
The Covet was the first car ingame to have a sound different to the default V8 IIRC EDIT: Nevermind someone already said that
Isn't the word still out on the Burnside Megathrust engine? IIRC it isn't used on any factory configs.
1.5 ZXi config in older game versions had light blue Color instead of dark purple, 1.5 ZXi also uses matte Color unlike 89' Pessima ZX trim
The Covet drag config has the highest Specific Power of any vanilla configuration or car... It makes 571,5 HP per Litre. As the 80s Pessima shares the 2L DOHC i4, it can roughly match the power (the different exhaust gives it 1 HP more) but no vanilla config has it equipped. Sidenote while the Covet has the highest Specific Power for forced induction, the naturally aspirated engine with the highest specific HP is the 2L i4 in the ´96 Pessima Class 2 Touring car with 150,5 HP per Litre. Almost as much as the current world record for a Production car the gordon murray t50 with 163 HP/L. This suggests a high proficiency in designing i4 engines in Ibishu.
Well NOT just a covet thing. But a ibishu thing. It is the ONLY brand to have Right hand drive ( RHD ) . As seen in Covet remaster.
I meant ibishu has right hand drive. Like the miramar pigeon/wigeon. Sorry for the mix up anyway it was also ( i may be totally wrong with this ) BUT i think other then the D-series it Got the most Content per-remaster. with the 2.0 GTZ coming in 2020. Also the VERY early versions had no radio. Bumpers where Unpainted ONLY. Then a update they where color coated ( if you like it or not ) due to back lash it came a option so then was the first car with both Color coated and non coated bumper. It had the VERY blocky engine mesh. Then it had the mesh it has now. ( that looks like the old pessima and 200bx ) soon even a better mesh with remaster on way. was the FIRST FWD in the game. and there is more.
