    [ The build's finished! Pics on #11 ]
    Hey everyone,

I've decided to build a computer, and due to size constraints, I've chosen to go with Mini-ITX.

    Here are the specs:
    CPU: Intel i7 4790K
    GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 770 w/ 4GB GDDR5
    Case: Cooler Master 130
CPU Cooler: Corsair H75 Closed Loop Liquid Cooler
    Motherboard: ASUS Z97I-PLUS
    PSU: Corsair CX500 V2 500W
    RAM: Team Group DDR3 1600Mhz 8GB x2
    HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA200 2TB
    OS: Windows 8 64 bit

Oh and I will be overclocking the CPU and GPU.

Does anyone have any constructive criticism or suggestions?
And please do not start a flamewar!

looks powerfull, maybe you´ll add a SSD ? speed things up alot.
I had the Corsair H80i, after 2 months it totally got useless, temperatures went through the roof. I opened it up and it was full with green junk and plastic particles. I have no idea what happened there but after that i jumped back to aircooling and my "Phantek CPU Cooler" gets the same temperaturs as the H80i.

What i dont get, why would you overclock such an powerfull CPU even more? But thats just my problem with builds with high power CPU´s ^.^
As i know there are 4,9 GhZ without a sweat possible but then it gets kinda crazy dou to higher core voltage and temperatures.

BTW is that the mainboard with build in WLAN?

if you do this build, i wanna see some pics :D

did one by myself 6 Months ago with a Bitfenix Prodigy.

now i changed over to Big Tower Corsair 730T and i love it even more

EDIT: the Gigabyte GTX770 got 3 fans on it, make sure theres enough space in that Coolermaster case if you put the radiator in the frontintake fanport. I would go with the EVGA GTX770 with 2 fans on it or you choose the blower type "stock nvidia like" that takes the hot air out of the case on the back, but those a not that quiet indeed.

I know a guy who went through 2 h80i's in the bitfenix prodigy, both had real cooling problems and when opened were also full of shit. Both returned.

yeah, i know it from my earlier costum DIY watercoolings. If you dont add anti alge liquid it gets junked up like that one was. And the Corsair software wasn´t working with Win 8.1 and still isnt till yet ...

EDIT: most of it got stuck on the copper base, sadly i got no picture from that.

We just established that pre-sealed water loops are basically junk.

Your right, I probably should add an SSD. Plus the annual Computer Festival is being held tomorrow, and I've heard that this year's sponsors are mostly memory manufacturers, so I'll probably score a very good deal on a 128GB SSD.

I'm overclocking because I just want to try it!:) My first 3 computers had crap CPUs (Atom, Atom and Atom), and I obviously can't overclock the i5 2500S in my iMac. It probably won't benefit much, and will shorten the lifespan of the internal components(heat and such), but it would be a brand new experience!

Yes, the ASUS Z97I-PLUS has built-in 802.11AC Wi-Fi and Gigabit Lan.

Pics will be coming! (If I successfully build it)

I originally wanted a big fullsize tower, but my apartment is just too cramped.:(

I checked on Cooler Master's and GIGABYTE's website (or other reliable sources), and it looks like it fits!

Wow, looks like Corsair is going to have some bad rep...

Does that happen in all closed-loop liquid coolers? Should I just use traditional air cooling?

[EDIT]: Actually, if I overclock the CPU and GPU, will the 500W PSU cope with the raised requirements?

I have never heard of those issues before with Corsair's AIO coolers. I spend quite a bit of time on the LTT forums and plenty of people on there have h100i's and h110's. Never even once heard about them getting all gunked up.

My Corsair H50 has been running 15+ hours a day for 4-5 years, and it's still working like the first day, so no, they're not junk.

Coincedentally that is what my mate replaced his 80i with although somewhat warily. Its less than a year old still but it is running fine to this day. It may just be the h80i that is complete junk, but considering the same guy went through 2 and now I've seen someone in this thread with the same issue, I'm certainly never going to recommend the h80i to anyone and personally will be avoiding pre-sealed systems.

ah ok know i see your point :D trust me if you dont go to high you actually wont notice shorter lifespan, mostly because you replace it after 5-6 years, thats my fetish btw :p

i know that feel  last year i nearly could eat, take a dump, shower, game, watch TV without any movement ... so small was that apartment :/ but know i got space, WAY TO MUCH OF IT. That moment when you came out of a small 2 room apartment and move to 5 room on second floor :p

NO! thats the crazy thing, it only seems to happen to the H80i and some H110 as i find on different gamerchannel. But i just wanted to say that i could happen, maybe you have a look at other brandings like Coolermaster or Antec. In pricing they are pretty much all the same, but you can give the H50 a try i never read someting bad about it.

you can hop over to 600W (maybe the one with cable management?) like i did, the 500W is enough though and as good as the 600W im using :) I just bought the 600w one because it was for the same price like the 500W. A friend of mine runns a Core i5 4470 with two GTX660 in SLI with that PSU soooo you should be good. And i clocked my i5 4670k up and down without any problems, even in the "fuck that shit im going 5,5 GhZ" range that PSU just doesent gave a shit :D but 5,5 ghZ was just too much for that CPU but that is a other story :p

    So the build's finished!

There has been some changes in my parts list.
I bought a cheaper 600W PSU that's made in Hong Kong, replaced the 2TB Toshiba HDD with 2 3TB Toshiba HDDs, added an 128GB SSD and removed one RAM stick, which leaves me with one 8GB RAM stick. The water cooler has also changed from a H75 to a H55 due to budget constraints.

    Some photos of my build

( If you look closely in the first picture, thats the HDD holding the GTX 770 in place. I added electrical tape to the edges of the HDD to prevent short circuits. Also, thats a Blu-Ray drive with an Apple logo I bought in China for approximately $15 USD)

    Installing Windows 8.1

    (imported from here)

BeamNG with everything set to highest. It runs it quite nicely, although I haven't bothered to check FPS.

Well that's about it. I'm planning to add a Bitfenix Recon fan controller to the 5.25" drive bay where my SSD currently resides.
My dad plans to add another 3TB HDD, so it may end up being a NAS gaming rig.

Holy crap, that's a sweet build. It's nice just from a specs point of view but all in mITX. *drool*
With a 770 and 4790k I'd expect upwards of 90fps. Vegetation might bring it to the mid 50s maxed out. (I had a 770)
