It is still impressive nevertheless, but it's really tricky getting a car of this era right. there are no beamng vanilla cars to base it off and little to no mods for these cars
looks good so far! even though lost heaven countryside is an old map (and i wish it had ai paths but doesn't) I cant wait to try it on the circuit there
You should include a headerless version of the I8 kind of like a plane. I believe it would be very mesmerizing to see individual cylinders fire in order.
woaw update time! im a bit demotivated so ive been doing another mod, but ive decided to finish the thing, ive added the spare wheel and a mirror, i scrapped the licence plates and only got frame textures left! soon on repo!
Very cool. I'm sure it's a lot of effort to handle! Looking forward to trying to keep it in a straight line!
Bugs I found: Some missing textures Some duplicate beams Stock and sport versions overheat even on idle somehow and are terribly slow Every other version except for I8 overheats within 10 seconds of driving, literally The I8 on the other hand has clutch overheating issues Some of the Jbeam feels like done with the Blender exporter without further modifications Exhaust is permanently attached Model has many things that don't make sense, I don't think I have to list them Overall good mod, the rear axle with no suspension is really cool and the I8 too, but could be improved.
The radiators need like a LOT more power, it feels like it has thermosiphoning but thats outdated even by early 30s standards. you need the race i8 radiator to do literally anything. mirror floats off body, gearing seems a bit problematic, also, why is the dashboard leather and looks modern like something you'd see in a retro car, i think cars of this era the dashboard was practically literally just a flat board with gauges plopped in. one cool feature i would like is a rumble seat or something, when it is running though it is quite fun. the i8 version is pretty good against tuned modern 4 cylinders as well on the dragstrip. --- Post updated --- if you look at the radiator as well the fan clips into it and its super tiny which would probably cause issues IRL --- Post updated --- the engine seems to in general sit forward super far which you really dont want in a SPORTS car, 80% of the weight is probably the engine and most of thats being pressed onto the front wheels --- Post updated --- also theres no fuel tank model, maybe cram it in front of the dash in the giant crater in the engine bay? --- Post updated --- well i got a response about the cooling and it seems the efficiency of the engines might also be causing problems but according to the jbeam the 4 cylinder has 0.28 efficiency which shouldnt really cause issues, radiator seems good with a efficiency of 12500 but the fan speed is only 2 which MIGHT be causing issues --- Post updated --- The race radiator (which appears to not be used in any configs) doesent overheat but it does run hot sometimes if you push the car which seems like how the stock car should act. the race i8 radiator seems to rarely overheat but after tuning the engine with around 45 kw of nos (kept giving me overtorque warnings but oh well) i did notice it started heating up when the nos was injecting --- Post updated --- its possible just changing the base radiators fan speed to 3 could fix the overheating but its hard to tell, the thermal app seems to show the radiator working fine --- Post updated --- ive noticed while driving the rear suspension seems SUPER bouncy, even with actual suspension on the car when i hit bumps sometimes the whole rear bounces off the ground and when i pushed the car down with the nodegrabber it bounced up super high. on a bouncy road the whole car just bounces and wobbles around so you dont really get much advantage from the sport variant
2nd is super far from 1st at redline, it needs to drop the rpm if you shift at redline to i figure maybe somewhere a bit higher then 2000 atleast. i think part of the issue is that the final drive is pretty high and in general this car is aiming for a top speed that the stock engine really cant reach
the way the mirror floats off the body is really starting to annoy me, also the lack of gas tank, maybe put it behind the seat like a lot of cars of this style did? --- Post updated --- why does the racing variant have lower gearing then the other variants, shouldnt they have lower gearing because the engines are weaker and for racing you would want top speed?
hmmm, me when fenders and proper 30s headlights Alright i know ya all are gonna ask how i got it, the answer is simple i made the fenders and the headlight frame with headlights on top, first proper modification i have ever done!
Little suggestion, imo the gauges don't look 1930s enough, just a simple little thing but do you think you could try making them sort of like this? Mod's awesome so far btw!
I do love the design of this type of gages, nice little suggestion. do you know what type of car model it is?
