honestly i was quite excited for this mod. just to find out it was paid. i have no problem with paid mods if it was announced earlier than this. i am heavily disappointed

Why not pay for it then? It's quite reasonably priced. Less than a Big Mac on McDonalds.

 

Tbh im not really mad at all, like you deserve to earn money and to have stable income but, im just kinda disappointed, you should've said that it would be paid before the release.

 

I hope that next time a mod will have to be paid the community will see something like " - PAID" at the end of a thread name because hyping everyone up and then showing us that its paid is kind of disappointing. The fact a mod is paid doesn't bother me; the price is still too high for living standards in my country (I literally bought beamng for as much as this mod is going for), but if others like it, im happy.

Not against paid mods, if he wants to charge for it then that's his decision but he should have said it's going to be paid from the start. Disappointing.

 

I'm personally not surprised, going off by previous statements from the author on different threads. Yes they should've disclosed it at the beginning but everyone makes mistakes.

I did get the mod and I can tell that there's a lot of love and effort being put into this mod, and in my opinion it justifies the price. But that's just my opinion.

 

How is asking money for hours upon hours of work greedy? That’s like saying it‘s greedy to sell your art piece of self made furniture or whatever

 

I know that you spent many hours making it a great mod, you can charge money for your own mod but still, noone ever said that it will be a paid mod, would have been nice to mention it in the beginning of development so you wouldnt have gotten alot of peoples hopes up. There are tons of people like that here. They hoped for another free mod that will be good quality, but yea no. I guess we already have alot of good quality free mods, cant have everything for free. So yea its fine i guess.

 

It's more greedy to expect free labor from modders.

A better strategy would have ben a 2 step release with making the base model free and th aditional content payed as dlc

But the biggest inertal mistake was an questionable flawed comunication with the comunety.

People can be glad that there are people sinking shit tons of time into creating modifications and add ons for this game while charging absolutely nothing.
They seem to forget that it‘s all just someone (or multiple someones) spending their free time on creating this. It‘s not too far fetched to ask for something in return

ngl are there even many paid mods? most people in this conversation are making it seem like every mod on the forums is paid.

 

why should it be free? mods dont come out of thin air, especially high quality ones, and its very cheap. only reason you would be complaining is if you arent old enough to have your own bank account, in which case you shouldnt even be here

For a high quality self made vehicle mod you can drive indefinitely
