    I have gotten permission to refresh this map to a new version so do check back next month or in a few weeks, to see if it's any better.
    Yes, cache can affect it and do weird things like that. If you can't do anything to get it to work, try again next month after I update it to the newer version.
    It can be helpful if you upload your beamng.drive log (beamng.log in the beamng.drive folder in my documents), after trying to load the map unsuccessfully. It might help tell what is wrong, or what else is conflicting.

    Hi, I'm trying to add a time trial to this map, but for some reason it won't load. I wondered if you knew of a sensible reason for this?

    maybe because this map is outdated and hasn't been updated since 2016

    Maybe... but it is still just a map. You can do everything up until the point of loading it. No big worries, I can still do the time trial, just can't upload it to the repository.

    If this map breaks, I will fix it.
    I have saved older versions of the game just for this purpose (and in-case if my maps break on a new version, and to test for newly introduced bugs).
    So, if this map is broken for most or all people, DO know I will volunteer to fix it. Just remember there would be a week or so turn-around time on it once I know about it (and I don't work on things near the end of the month as that's crunch-time for my supporter beta on Los Injurus City map).
    If it wasn't for this map's coverage on Youtube from YBR, I wouldn't have bought this game so soon, and gotten into mapping a year later (12/2015 I got into mapping, and started adding highways to Ouerbacker's Black Hills Nevada map with Ouer's expressed permission).

    I also have a tendency to keep large repositories of old mods, though I don't have much from the last 18 months. I have most of the good map mods. So in-case stuff goes missing, breaks, and so-forth, I can fix them or at-least supply maps which are no longer on the repo unless they were DMCA'ed.

    I should have explained better. The map works fine. But the time trial I've created won't load once I have it. Just crashes on load. Seems to happen with older maps. I just wondered if others had had a similar issue.

    Normal bridges are not working properly. Cannot navigate with navigation and AI.

    Here's a dust off update for the COS. The map was kept as original as possible. Highlights:
    - modern file format
    - new sky and day-night cycle
    - traffic cars can drive on bridges
    - less immersion breaking visuals
    - material format changed from cs to json (using Car_Killer's Modding Tools addon). Png textures changed to dds where applicable.
    - bare-bones scatter sky and time of day play with darker nights. Old skybox and sun with their gloomy atmosphere can be unhidden in the editor.
    - anisotropic tune-up for that one fuzzy asphalt road
    - got rid of various collision, groundcover, and texture console errors
    - AI path tweaks using invisible roads
    - improved the draw distance of huge rocks 01, 02, and 03Top
    - downed all the flying rocks and trees I spotted
    - replanted a few trees growing inside rocks
    - fixed one stretched asphalt road
    - reduced shininess on manzanita plants
    - removed the white buggy texture from guardrails
    - added sound reverb spaces to tunneled and high walled areas
    - added metal groundmodel to plated bridges and jump ramps
    - map is now compatible with the race-path editor
    This update arrangement was okayed by bob.blunderton and the download below is approved by DoullPepper.

    Place the zip in AppData/Local/BeamNG.drive/0.24/mods
    Remove the original canyon_of_speed.zip if you have it and clear cache before use.

    Well you just made my night. This has been one of my regular go-to maps for a LOOOOONG time. For it to receive an update? Hell-to-the-freaking-YEAH.

    Fixed the road barrier textures and added a U.S. country tag for police traffic vehicles.
    Remove canyon_of_speed.zip / cos_024.zip from your mods folder and clear cache before using the .zip below.
