using Mods

hey guys.
im all new to this and have gotten game for my son.
we have downloaded the rockcrawler mod but cannot find it to use in the game.
anyone able to explain what we need to do after downloading and subscribing

 

what car is the rockcrawler for?

I was unaware that it is supposed to replace another.
i thought it was a car that would be available to use when selecting vehicles
as i said im all new to this and never use mods on anything.
am unsure what to do after i have dl it and added to the mods folder.
when i click on mods its there but cant find it to use.
do i have to change anothers skin to use?

it is the trackfab brawler mod

 

i think its towards the bottom of the vehicles page. im not 100% sure though

 

that where i assumed it would appear but theres nothing there. hmmmmmmmm.

actually theres a search bar, i forgot to metion, search up trackfab and it should show, to get to all the cars again click the x by the search bar

 

hmm. can find the search bar, just the standard cars and other things to play with.
think i may have a really early version. 0.10.0.1.4385. may have to try a nwer version

i found the search bar. but that car is not there

First of all welcome to the world of BeamNG!

BeamNG.drive version 0.10.0.1 is over 3 years old now. We're currently at 0.24.1.2. The latest version of the Trackfab Brawler is from December 2021, which means it'll require BeamNG version 0.23.0.0 or newer to run properly.

Out of curiosity, how come you have such an old version of the game?

 

thats what i thought the problem was.
a friend gave it to me to try.
seems you cant always trust your freinds
i will have to get me the newer one.

 

Ah, I see. 0.10.0.1 does represent the core features of BeamNG though. If you (and your son) like the game, I highly recommend buying it. Best way to buy is via Steam, as the game tends to be more up-to-date via Steam.

 

I recommend downloading Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/
And then purchasing the game from there. The game has come a LONG way since 0.10, so I highly recommend trying it out.
Though you will need a good PC to run it at full potential, so make sure that your PC specs at least compare to the minimum requirements.
I suspect if you were able to run 0.10 then you will be able to run the latest version just fine.

Spoiler: how to check if your pc meets the minimum requirements

If you are unsure how to compare your pc to this, simply type in your computer's processor name and then "vs" the minimum spec you are trying to compare to into your search engine, and then click on the first link.
For example, I have an i5 10400F, so I would type in "i5 10400f vs Intel Core i3-6300"
and then click this link.
