I hate to rain on your parades but the devs just bought a large pack of generic icons to use (which seem to be intended for android apps originally), presumably so they'd be covered for any future needs (or not) and this is not actually definititive proof that goats, rowing boats, the google play store and whatever else was included in there is coming in the next update and you should maybe not get excited over things that almost definitely will not actually happen if you look at it reasonably.

 

Goats: Italian countryside mission confirmed
Rowing Boats: Fishing minigame confirmed
Google Play Store: Exploding phone mission confirmed

i dont know how you couldnt see this as definitive proof that the campaign revolves around an italian villageperson who has a passion for fishing and phones that catch fire

All of this may very well just be an icon pack.

If I really were to care you could probably find these icons labeled as a generic UI pack.

 

Ok, so most of it won’t be used, but why do they have it in the first place?


EDIT: I’m not so sure anymore. Why would a random pack of icons the devs bought happen to have a beamng logo icon? (Near to top left)

EDIT AGAIN: And why would it have icons for the bolide and pigeon?

 

It's a gallery of ALL the icons in the game, the BeamNG specific ones and some others were added by the devs

but yeah I have to agree, not everything is probably made for BeamNG
I can definitely see the dealership icon being used, especially with the addition of actually revamping dealerships on maps not to long ago if I'm not wrong
maybe they can just some icons as well like money icons for example in the future, but a good chunk of these other ones are probably not making it in

Possibly in case somehow in the future they need icons for whatever, it could also just come with Torque3D, and for the BeamNG icons they could just be made by the devs.

So, now we know which icons are not beam icons, so the question is, what do the icons that are beam icons mean?

 

I guess we'll find this out further down the line of updates.

 

Most of the icons seem irrelevant (or troll icons, like the old WIP Wendover and Bluebuck car selector pictures the devs showed once)

IDK about the golf, but I bet the goat can be a great WIP icon for new world editor buttons.

On the other hand, these icons seem to be more relevant since they're quite clearly made by Beamng, and I'm not sure, but I think a few of them are still unused?

- Unsure too, but pretty sure it's already in-game.

- Drag race
- Gymkana/drift
- Long jump
- Unsure but definitely used.
- Precision parking
- Point-to-point
- Bus routes
- Police missions (Is it used ?)
- Delivery missions.

 

And what happens if you rotate it 90 degrees?

i could see the golf one being used to mark a golf course on the map, even if you cant play golf, would be fun to absolutely tear up a golf course
