akkkshuweleeyy.... the windshields in Nascar are made from polycarbonate (Lexan) and Plexiglass is a name brand of acrylic. they commonly are confused because they are both clear plastics, but acrylic is cheaper, stiffer, and cracks more easily. however, polycarbonate is way more expensive, flexible, and durable.
i was wondering, whenever a nascar crashes the hood comes loose from the car and is hanging on from string or something, is there gonna be something like that?
Again I know the roof Cant Come Off but can it Sorta Collapse in like Ryan Newman's 2020. Flip Kind of Like this?
the hood flew off in austin dillon crash 2015 daytona meaning that the hood can still break so hopefully the hood isnt just glued onto the car
Of course it won't! Many pieces can fly off of the car, I spent a lot of time getting the damage model looking good.
I looked at the model on Sketchfab, and I noticed it doesn't have the roof hatch on the roof of the car. Will this be added in the future or is there no intention to add the roof hatch?
The Roof Flaps are a completely different component on the roof, the roof hatch is a door on the roof of the car used in emergency situations, or in Waltrip's and Logano's case celebratory situations. It was introduced with the Gen 4 car and is often used for driver transfers or if a driver is injured.
