Typos happen. Not the first time, not the last. We all know what I meant. Moving on.

It's just a list of contemporary Japanese vehicles which were primarily small/midsized FWD sedans* to show that the Pessima really should have gotten more content. Many of those I listed (plus the Honda Accord, which I forgot about) have a 5 door option, optional AWD, and a diesel.

*The Laurel was RWD but it is still a contemporary midsized sedan with optional diesel and AWD, 2/3 of the things I was trying to make a point about

Oh absolutely, though recently the quality of vehicle refreshes has grown tenfold, with the bolide especially getting a ton of variations, with multiple generations of bodywork, popup and sealed beam headlights, multiple widebody kits, targa and hardtop configurations, and fully custom suspension for race variants. I

Actually, the Honda Accord (1986-1989, which was based on the civic platform of the era) had digiguages :p

that teaser car definitely looks pretty aggressive, definitely looking forward to driving it when it comes out. if it is the covet it feels like they lengthened the rear overhang by a decent margin though. if it is a group b variant covet though and they decide they need to push the production year back to make it fit the time group b was around, the basic covet would have probably the most sophisticated suspension system compared to its irl counterparts, at the time, who were basically all using macpherson struts in the front, and twist beam or macpherson struts with trailing links in the rear; those would probably be more representative of more hatchbacks at the time. for most people its not immersion breaking so i doubt they'd change the covet's current arrangement but it might be some food for thought

The Covet's model years is only 1 year off of historical group B. There's plenty of IRL cars that were designed but too late for group B, so I wouldn't call it a deal breaker.

Personally I think it would be hilarious if they went the route of the 222D and make a 1987 group B Covet with a single production unit which is the most expensive car in game

The Toyota counterpart of the Pessima would be the Camry; the Corolla is a compact sedan while the Pessima is a midsize sedan

For me the mk2 Pessima is definately based on a USDM Mazda 626, same mirrors and grille and rims

So for the mk1 I'm guessing it's a mazda, but idk maybe a mix of tons of 80s sedans

i mean, it's not like it was offensive or anything, it's more of a fact. for other jokes it might be needed but this one probably wouldn't have caused havoc.

You would be surprised how many underage people on the forums could read it and think it was for real

More on topic tho, last update we had 2 remasters and 1 new vehicle, but as we don't know which update cycle the devs are going to choose (being it the ususal 3 months or the extended one we had for the last update), they might need another longer update schedule to work on the PBR of the remaining maps, or they might update it one at a time, but I think at least one map will be updated to PBR.

On the vehicle side, if they extend the update cycle again, we might have 1 or 2 remasters (I personally didn't think the Covet deserved it since it has had a few soft updates to it over the time and other vehicled didn't and aged worse, but it makes sense they prioritize the original vehicles of the game) and for a new car i highly doubt we''ll get the Civetta supercar for this next update, I think BeamNG should rework it's aerodynamics first to implement such a vehicle

Although it wasn't directly offensive, some kids might read and think he is talking about them, the frase "update tomorrow" is literally the frase that creates the most chaos on this thread because the hype goes WAAAAY up and no speculations is correct, it simply floods the thread, so I understand his point for having used /s.

This, the Bolide already has some slight aero issues, and the game has used this very basic model for such a long time, a new supercar is a good excuse to implement it. A ray tracing aero model would be cool, it could still be based on triangles, but it would actually check the airflow through them, and triangles would have some sort of "airflow block coef" so only part of the air would go behind them, that would allow drafting and proper simulation of multi-layered aero surfaces, and could be implemented into engine air cooling too

Plus, since they're developping ray-traced sound simulation for detecting whether or not the roof is open, etc., a part of this code could probably be reused.
