I think that the v8 engines in the muscle cars like the bruckell moonhawk, burnside special, and the gavril bluebuck sound pretty un-realistic, For example, In beamNG the moonhawk is supposed to look like the chevrolet chevelle 1977, or something like that, And the sound is so lame compared to the real sound, First take a listen to the Moonhawk in game and just listen the first 30 seconds: And then listen to a real v8 start up: The sounds are very different, In real life they sound so agressive and cool, and then u hear it in game... Sounds like an old diesel engine running bad. I respect all the work and effort put in to the cars and how hard it actually can be, But i really think that the dev team or whatever it is should fix the sounds so they sound like real life!
the chevelle shown in the video is most likely cammed and running a much more open exhaust. the game's sounds are limited by what audio samples they can find, as they need to get samples of an engine with no exhaust at all and apply muffling in-game.
, But to be honest, no original in game modification will either way make it sound like a real muscle car at all, if u make a drag muscle car it sounds like an overtuned Dodge demon, and that isnt how they sound in real life when drag racing for example. U can never get that Agressive Angry sound from a v8 in this game unless u use some mods.
Was about to say that, but he's got a point, upgrading the engine in the muscle cars should provide a very similar sound. --- Post updated --- What map is that?
The sound of the Moonhawk is actually quite realistic considering the fact that it's a mid to late 70's personal luxury coupe. They aren't loud at all, they have really tame cams, no compression and honestly sound quite terrible with a loud exhaust (just a loud incessant drone). The Moonhawk (at idle) has that nice quiet whisper that all malaise era cars should have. Here in Germany were I live there are way too many of these nice luxoboats with giant pipes and loud mufflers and it just completely ruins these cars. If anything the Moonhawk is still too loud under acceleration.
