So..... Burnside is around in the modern age. This adds so many vehicle possibilities. People, ( like me ) Thought they ended in the 60s. Well nope, they're here today!
I'm about 97% sure this dealership sells classics. Gabester himself even confirmed that Burnside is defunct.
like Penguin72 stated, Burnside is defunct. But, it is pretty funny that they put it in. Maybe a mixup on their end? --- Post updated --- Gabester said it ended in 85' on this page, so maybe it could be referring to newer vehicles One last possibility would be the ability to buy older burnsides in Career mode? It does open up a can of worms https://wiki.beamng.com/index.php?title=Burnside&oldid=2341 --- Post updated --- The career mode thing could very well be why they left that in there
It was never specified WHEN it went defunct. Maybe just a few years ago and their cars are still left at dealerships?
Or they just got themselves some piece of car memorabilia they found for sale. AMC went down in the 80s, and both Ford and Chrysler were having big trouble in the early 80s. The 1980s are not a weird point for an American car brand to go down at.
I mean it wasn’t out of the blue, he went out of his way to make a contribution to the wiki specifically stating that Burnside went from 53’-85’ As MrAnnoyingDude said, the 80s was a troubling time for American brands
conspiracy mode: ON Let's make a step back. In the change log the devs said that they added to Utah three dealerships: one that deal in imports and modded cars, one that deal generically with "trucks and SUVs" and one that deal with new offroads. That implies that the "trucks and SUVs" one sells also used (and thus older) models. Inside the showroom there are two covered Roamers. the Roamer is a quite old model starting his production back in 1992, so this dealer could be the one the sell used models? If the answer is yes, then is possible that they sell used Burnside models from the eighties. Or maybe... they just put a Burnside banner because it looked nice. But they are BeamNG devs, they never do something without a specific reason.
I think Burnside should have.... Yeah, aaaanother 80s car. Possibly a luxury sports coupe like the Pontiac Fiero or another luxury sedan like they’re known for. Or maybe a sedan like the Lagonda. That would be interesting.
yeaahhh no. no more 80's american luxury cars. what else could a semi-luxury american car be that hasn't been done in game yet? something from the 00s-10s, either FWD and boring like a buick lacrosse, or a bit more sporty like a chrysler 300?
Maybe like GM where they made a luxury Mercury version of an SUV. Maybe they could have a Luxury model of the Roamer sold as the.... Burnside Grandeur huh? huh? Sound cool?
Could always bring it back like Chrysler did with Plymouth Cuda under Dodge for like... a year or 2 in the late 2000's. Basically just a Challenger with a slightly different grill and tail lights... and some 'cuda badges. I don't know if these were ever official cars or just kits that people did to normal Challengers, but there was a point in time that my local Dodge dealership had 4 off these on display at the same time... so there were enough of them and they were official enough for that to somehow happen?
That would be pretty cool. I just want a 2020s economy car too. Like the Nissans but badged as a Hirochi.
