Ive seen my GPU jump to 80% utilisation on the jungle map but usually it jumps around 40 to 60%

For me when I set a minimum clock speed it just makes the gpu utilization go to around 20-30 instead of being at 70-80 with it off and doesn’t improve the frame rate problem at all

Its fair to say theres a lot of optimisation thats required and will come in time, the only map that gets a little choppy for me is west coast more specifically the scramble scenario mission my frames will drop to 50fps worst case scenario.

I don't know if it is an issue with the AMD GPU or not, because my PC is a potato compared to the others around here, basically the whole PC is a Bottleneck, CPU at 90% and GPU with spikes to 100% but with drops to like 16% usage with no FPS difference (and I only use 1 vehicle, with 2 my PC would explode itself, I really need some upgrades).

I used to have issues with stutters on bigger maps until I went from 8Gb to 32GB of RAM, then the problem got solved

Thought I'd chime in as I've also noticed this issue.

Running performance graph in Safe Mode on WCUSA freeroam (spawned at racetrack) in a Civetta Bolide, spent a couple of minutes in the parking lot doing donuts and the stats are as follows:

    Current FPS: 61.8
    Average: 52.3
    Min: 30.4
    Max: 78.8

This is fairly representative of performance I've seen in other maps as well.

    My PC specs:
    • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (8c16t) @ 4.5GHz
    • RAM: 64GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 @ 3200MHz
    • GPU: Asus ROG Strix Radeon 6800XT LC (Stock OC)
    • Primary Display: Gigabyte G34WQC @ 3440x1440 (144Hz)
    • Mobo: Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming
    • Storage:
    • 1TB Adata SX8200 NVME SSD (game is installed here)
    • 4TB additional spinning rust
Radeon Driver: Version: 21.10.2 (released 05/10/21).

No performance issues in any other games. Forza Horizon 5, for example, easily matches the native refresh rate of my display with all settings maxed out.

I'm afraid that the game just isn't well optimized for AMD GPUs. Now that I think of it, I was having similar issues with my old 5700XT. I've now began using a 3070 Ti and FPS has jumped by around 30% in Utah. The fluctuations still happen, although they're not as noticeable considering that the framerates are now much higher than before, when I was using the 6900XT.

this is why I use intel+Nvidia I never have major random issues. I have a friend with a team red system and he keeps getting issues like this, why is radeon so popular? I had a brand new rx570 die on its first day. I bought it brand new.

Radeon is popular because theres no Nvidia cards anywhere, thats the main reason really, the situation is getting better granted, i was on EVGAs waiting list for 14 months trying to get a 3080 not a chance so i gave up and got myself a rx6800

Better performance for your money. I’ve had 0 problems with this system, the only one being with beamng, and that’s not hardware problem that’s an optimization issue with the game.

i've been looking at possibly getting a gtx 1650 super. watched a video the other day were it was paired with a ryzen 5 3600 in which i currently am using my cpu and looks like a decent setup. i'm trying to at least play with normal and above settings plus would like to play more of the scenarios and play with the traffic like i see in some of the youtube videos i watch.

Because they offer some of the best bang for the buck products. I've owned RX480, 5700XT, 6900XT, and a 3900X. Never had any serious issues with any of the GPUs, while the 3900X was always, and continues to be, a beast of a chip despite being 2+ years old. (I've used it to pump out 100+ videos over the past few years and it still runs like new.) The 6900XT is also an amazing card, especially if you manage to get the reference version.

Thanks everyone for your reports and screenshots about the issues with the game performance.

We are still looking into this issue and we would like to request additional information to proceed with the investigation further.

Please follow these steps to collect and share new information:

Before you begin, please switch the game to Safe Mode to ensure that your mods are not interfering with the process:
    https://documentation.beamng.com/support/launcher_support_tools/safe_mode/

    1) Disable the VSync option under "Options" → "Display" → "Vertical sync"
    2) Open performance graph under "Options" → "Performance" → "Open performance graph"
    3) Wait until the graph is showing enough data
    4) Take a screenshot
    5) Export the data in CSV and JSON under "Performance Graph" > "File" > "Export"

Please perform the above instructions in the following situations:

    - Launch the map: Grid, small, pure
    - Then launch the map where you experience the lowest FPS
    - Also launch the game with AI (at least 5-6 additional vehicles)
    - If you experience lag in other situations, please attach a screenshot with performance graph as well

    IMPORTANT:
Send attached screenshots and performance logs to our email: support@beamng.com

Also include your Support ID with your message: https://supportid.beamng.com/

And if you using any overclocking software, please make sure to disable it or specify the details in your post.

If you posted your screenshots in this thread, please give us a link to your post.

    Thanks again for your help!

I'm running on the lowest settings and after a few minutes of driving around without any traffic (if i'm lucky) my screen will go black and my gpu fans will run very high. graphics driver is up to date. nothing else is running in the background except for my web browser. currently using a amd radeon rx 5500 xt 4gb and other games run fine without crashing my pc.

Have a question for you. Did you notice any changes in performance when v0.24 came out?

Thats a good question. It performs a little bit better, but overall its still far below expectations.
