Used the basic cache clear. Every single one of my mods not downloaded through repository is gone. The Nordschliefe, the lovely Dodge Coronet mod that I do 90% of my driving in, everything. Tragic. I've looked for the backup folder it supposedly saved them to (game is in steam folder my G drive) and can't find it. Yes I've used my google to try to solve this problem before asking on the forum. Please help.
Clearing cache shouldn't get rid of your mods, weird that happened. If a backup has been created, it wouldn't be in your steam folder, it would be in your userfolder. Go to Appdata/Local/Beamng.drive and check if there's any backup folder or any other folders that may have your backup. You should have the latest version, which is 0.24, and there should be a folder for it, so there should be some sort of backup folder in there with your mods. If you're having trouble, you can always just search for one of the mods on "This PC" if it's not deleted, just moved. If none of these work, you should probably create a support ticket or try redownloading all of the mods with patience. I keep a Google Doc of every mod I've downloaded, so if I lose it, I could easily search for it and redownload it. It would be really weird if simply clearing cache completely deleted all of your mods, unless somehow you used the mods without putting them in the userfolder mods folder? If nothing makes sense, feel free to ask a question.
Thank you very much, I found it and moved them back. And yes, all of the car and map mods that were not downloaded were moved to that folder using the basic cache clear.
Clear cache often does something other than what they are supposed to do, thus, clearing cache manually is highly recommended. To do so, locate "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.24\" and delete the entire "temp" folder, then go to "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.24\vehicles" folder, search and delete all "main.meterials.json".
