Hello, I'd like to maybe make a small mod or addon for the D-series, but when I tried to get the 3d model of the truck, nothing showed up in the files. I don't even know if I am doing anything right or if it is even possible to get the model of the vehicles in CAD programs, but i googled most of my questions and it didn't really help me. So can anyone tell me what to do and how to get a model of the D-series? Thanks in advance.
Also I have another question, it's probably been answered already elsewhere but I'm already writing this so here it is- can I use Fusion 360 to model mods? I also have Blender, which I know you can use, but I'm more experienced with Fusion. Thank you.

Does Fusion 360 not import .dae files?

Fusion 360 is not suitable for making models used in games.
Fusion is meant for designing engineering solutions.

If you were to use a model from Fusion or any other CAD program it would be unusable since the topography of the model is not something which the program takes into consideration.
It could only be used as a reference model not a "game ready" model

Also, the way a model is build in fusion is completely different to when modeled in Blender.
    Its a completely different subject

It is doable... but... as D-Troxx notes...
and to get a visual representation of this...

okay, so i would be better off just using blender then. but what about importing the models of the vehicles from the BeamNG.Drive vehicles folder into blender? when I try to get the .dae files from them, they don't exist and they aren't zipped folders, they're just average folders. Do you know if I am in the wrong spot or what?

Where are you trying to import them from? The respective .dae file is in each vehicle folder in \Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\content\vehicles

Also, as far as I know, Blender doesn't like importing files from compressed archives, so you need to copy the .dae to some location of your choosing outside the .zip & then import it through the Import -> Collada (.dae) menu in Blender, as dragging & dropping only seems to work with .blend files

oh, i think i found it. I think i've been going in through the wrong way to the vehicles folder, i've just been getting there through the BeamNG.Drive folder that is not within the Steam folder. thank you for the tip.
