I had this error too, but figured out a way to fix it. If you happen to use the "Wentward DT40L Expansion Pack" mod, then just deactivate it, I found that to be the problem here.
I've done as much as delete and reinstall Beamng Drive (with no mods) and adding only the hybrid bus and arcanox mod and still can't get the hybrid busses to work.
I can’t seem to get the bus out of Park, i’m using my Z and X keyboard keys that you would use to shift gears, but it’s not working, and my tachometer doesn’t work either. I’m using the latest version of BeamNG, version 0.23, and I downloaded the mod by subscribing to it from the repository, what do I do?
remember to turn your bus on first! Shift E I believe Or in the vehicle tuning section, set it to auto start.
I tried that, nothing is happening, as in I still can't move. There is no parking brake indicator light lit up on the dash though, showing the parking brake is not set, I don't understand.
Assuming this is where you meant, after disabling all mods it seems to work properly. Just a matter of finding out which mods are conflicting now
was researching this for a uni project and well this mod came to my mind I wish i had the abilities to code a scenario using this mod, i think the idea would be quite cool. Recharging at each bus stop might allow for fully electric routes with a much smaller battery (8kwh perhaps?). You must drive carefully though to save energy and make the most of regen otherwise you risk running out of power and being left stranded! I guess a super capacitor, allowing for faster charging might mean you could increase the regen power slightly (already is quite good for the technology)
Well this is not practical, since the required power rating of the electric grid at the bus stop is too high. Dual-mode trolleybus is more pratical. However, making it charge in 1 second in BeamNG is always technically possible
Put supercapacitors in the bus stops so they charge slowly at the speed that electrical infrastructure allows for, then lets all that power out at once when a bus comes along. I don't think it's the future of electric bus transport, but can be more efficient than heavy lithium batteries.
Can someone help me? I've downloaded arcanox core and deactivated wentward expansion but still the bus won't event start and my speedometer dissapears like on the photo.
Do you have any errors in the console? It looks to me like the bus is on; usually if there is a crash, the UI app on the left looks weird. Are you sure you haven't done something else to make the speedometer disappear, or have any other mods that might be breaking that? Make sure you try it once with all other mods removed so that you can eliminate mod conflicts as the issue.
No, that doesn't work. In terms of capacitor W=0.5*C*V^2. If you connect a fully charged capacitor to an empty capacitor, their voltage will equalize, the energy loss is 50% regardless of cable resistance. Not only it's less efficient, but also the cable or the capacitor themselves can't withstand the energy loss.
That's just if they're connected straight together without some sort of inductor to boost the voltage of the source capacitor as its voltage drops. You'd need a much larger supercapacitor for the "source", though, and it would still take a few minutes to charge the bus I'd imagine.
Shoot, I forgot that. Use a induction to connect those two capacitors. This effectively creates an LC circuit, during the charging process, the inductor acts like a flywheel, the current will max out when the voltages are the same, then the inductor continues to push the current to the bus capacitor. Simply cut the circuit when the current reaches exactly zero to prevent energy from flowing back to the bus stop's capacitor.
It looks like the error that a few other users have mentioned in previous posts; unfortunately I haven't had time to release a permanent fix yet. As a workaround, you'll need to change your default "Gearbox Mode" to "Realistic" instead of "Arcade" in the gameplay settings. That will stop it from crashing when the bus loads.
This is called underrating. Batteries have internal resistance, thus when discharging very quickly, the available energy is significantly lower since some of the energy dissipates as heat (I^2*R). Thus in applications like hybrid vehicles, a 16kWh battery pack might be rated as 12kWh(and meter the 25% as 0% available). However, some s***ty manufactures(quite common IRL, sadly) may still claim the battery pack has 16 kWh, this is called overrating since some of the energy is unavailable to the vehicle and you may get very poor performance when discharging below said 25%.
Yeah it works but now I have a second problem, because now get it to work but can't change it to ev mode and as soon as I give it some power all of the ui is stuck and I can't controle it.
