So I've been playing beamng for the last few months now with an EVGA gtx 970, and I constantly get "gpu crashed" "gpu not responding" etc, is a gtx 970 no longer good enough for normal graphics? Even on low my pc has trouble. 32gb ram Gtx 970 Poor cpu (but that shouldn't affect me on Hiroshima or even gridmap should it?)
Performance wise, the GTX 970 is plenty for this Game, as BeamNG is really not GPU intensive (I play at 2560x1440p at max settings on a GTX 1060 3G, which has about the same "power" as your 970). If your GPU keeps crashing, you should try to troubleshoot it. Try these steps: -Remove any overclocks, if you have any -Reinstall the driver -Check if it's maybe running too hot (If so, replace thermal paste, increase fan speed or slightly underclock/undervolt the GPU) If you checked all of these and everything is alright with your card and this is the only game you play that has this issue, then report it to the devs, so that they can look into it. (https://www.beamng.com/forums/troubleshooting-bugs-questions-and-support.5/), or if this issue wasn't present in the previous version (0.23), then report it here (https://www.beamng.com/threads/0-24-discussion-thread.83197/)
Every game has this problem, no boosters for clocking, everything updated (drivers etc) and even clean reinstalled the game ♂️ maybe my 970 is on its way out the door
Reinstall the driver...not check for driver update... Use DDU (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) to completely clean the system from the GPU driver and then completely reinstall the latest version. If this fixes your issue, good, if not, then try downclocking/downvolting your GPU slightly. If all of this doesn't fix it, then I guess yes, your GPU may be on its last couple of breaths...
It is worth to check windows event viewer for errors. There should be some records with error code when the GPU crashed.
