Crash Description: On 3 December 2021, Ethan Smale of the English Youtube channel 'Car Throttle' reported his 1999 BMW Z3 as stolen. Just a day later, the BMW Z3 was found damaged, abandoned at the side of a fairly straight A-road in East Sussex. The car's plates were not falsified and were not taken off after the accident, leaving the car to be quickly identified by police as the same reported-as-stolen Z3. The car flashed a speed camera just a mile down the road at a speed of 80mph (60mph speed limit). The car was most likely not going 80 mph at the time of impact, and heavy brake marks were found a couple 100 yards down the road.

Injuries (if any): Unknown; the thieves left the scene without any trace, no other cars were believed to be involved.

    Map Used: Somerset

Car Used : 1994 ETK K-Series (Gavril H-Series as recovery truck)

Aftermath (lawsuit etc): The Z3 was recovered and Ethan was reunited with his Z3, however due to the extensive damage to the side of the vehicle, it is unknown whether the car will see the road again. The thieves have not been tracked down as of yet.

    A rally tragedy
    12th January, 2019

Crash Description: A rally tuned Hirochi Sunburst was competing in the 2018 Europen Rally Championship. The roads on the Polish stage were icy and narrow. At around 3 PM, the vehicle lost control on an icy road causing it to lose control in a corner. The vehicle flew over the guardrail and landed on a tree below.

Injuries/Casualties: Both the driver and co-driver passed away. The co-driver was impaled by a tree branch and died instantly, the driver was seriously injured. Before medical staff could get to the vehicle, he already passed away.

Aftermath: After the accident, the championship was paused. It was resumed three days later and the dangerous bend was made safer by upgrading the guardrail. A funeral was held for both of the racers separately a few days later. An investigation later revealed that the vehicle didn't have sufficient winter tires for the cold conditions. Hirochi Motors was sued for 20 000€, Hirochi lost the lawsuit and even paid for the funerals.

Case: Dangerous driving for the conditions/aggressive driving, November 15, 2003, 2:47 PM
Crash Description: Jerry Smith, 18, is a senior at Utah Regional High School who always drives his father's favorite truck, a lifted 1990s Gavril D25, to and from school. One day, heading home from school, Jerry noticed a LeGran and Pessima driving recklessly and at speeds of over 90 miles per hour down the highway he was taking to get home from school. Confused, and intrigued, by this scenario, Jerry starts chasing the LeGran, and he eventually ends up about 30 feet or so behind him before the LeGran starts to lose control as it is going over 90 miles per hour into the curved tunnel road. Just when it seems like he was about to catch the LeGran, it screeches to a violent halt, causing Jerry to ram into it going over 95 miles per hour. Jerry saw the driver and identified him as Bill Johnson, 19, of Utah Town University, and as he hit the little LeGran, Jerry was flung out of the vehicle and thrown 25 feet away from it due to the force, causing him to go unconscious. Bill Johnson was extremely thankful his side of the car wasn't hit. Records from the accident have him saying that "The kid in the truck wearing the jacket and the school t shirt was flung out of the vehicle, went over my roof, hit the ground, rolled twice, and was laying on his side, unconscious. I had to call an ambulance, this guy looked about my age, maybe a year or two younger, about my height, and was athletic, I knew him from somewhere." Ambulances came 10 minutes later to take Jerry to the hospital, while Bill inspected the damage.
Injuries: Jerry had a severe head injury, as well as multiple broken bones. Bill stated he had a broken arm, broken leg, and injuries to his chest and back.
Aftermath: Jerry was paralyzed from the accident, and he got removed from the football team and other school teams/clubs, causing his mental health to decrease. He still did well in school and visited friends who were accepting of his injuries. 15 years later, however, he was in an accident and sustained multiple severe injuries which caused him to pass away from the wreck.

Case: Stolen Parking Spot leads to road rage "accident", April 4, 2021
Crash Description: A forklift owner in a small Italian town finished his shift and came back to an awful surprise, the fact there was a black Opel Omega in his reserved parking spot. The forklift owner, enraged, decided it would be a good idea to try and destroy the black Opel by flipping it over. He flipped the car over, but in the process hit a silver Astra next to it, setting off its alarm. The forklift owner knew citizens and possibly the Italian police would notice this crash, so he moved his vehicle to make it appear that the crash happened for a different reason. The Opel owners both came out from their houses and got into a fight with each other before noticing a forklift and a guy running into the car repair shop before calling the authorities.
Injuries: Apart from the mood of the Omega owner, none.
Aftermath: The forklift owner got fired from his job hours after the incident was reported. Since the car alarm went off, the owner of the forklift was arrested for destruction of personal property, and was sentenced to ten years in jail for this accident. The Omega owner bought a Vivace and the Astra owner repaired his vehicle. The business shut down after the accident due to insurance bills getting higher, as high as 15,000 euros monthly.
Cars Used: Opel/Vortex Omega, Opel/Vortex Astra, Wolf Forklift (both opels from innocent's car replica mods)

Case: Targeted attack leads to 2 separate pileups, July 4, 2012
Crash Description: Jack, an officer for the BeamNG highway patrol Belasco City office, was monitoring speed, when an anonymous dump truck driver noticed the police vehicle, and recognized it as "the annoying officer who arrested me for 5 years back in 2000", and started merging towards the car at speeds of over 45 miles per hour. He slammed into the police vehicle, sending it sliding down the highway, the entire driver side severely damaged. An ETK I-Series, owned by the Jones family, saw the wreck at the last moment, swerved to avoid it, hit the barrier, and flipped over before their vehicle caught on fire with all of the doors locked, making escaping impossible. Suddenly, a Grand Marshal, owned by the Peters family, was driving and hardly saw the wreck, yet noticed smoke, and ended up hitting the burning German luxury car, also causing their car to catch on fire, and everyone but the three older children (a 14-year-old, a 12-year-old, and a 11-year-old) escaped by getting out of the car using the doors due to the child locks being activated, forcing the children to smash get out the rear windshield. Emergency officials arrived 3 minutes later due to the police vehicle calling for backup and emergency personnel on impact.
Injuries: The impact killed Jack, the members of the Jones family all died from the fire, the Peters children are in critical condition and were rushed to the hospital, the Peters adults had severe injuries and were also rushed to the hospital, the truck driver was "proud" of this accident and was uninjured.
Aftermath: The police officers noticed the wrecked car after the impact, and for the next few months, the loss of a great officer was mourned. The Peters family eventually recovered from the accident, and bought an ETK 856 after the wreck. Funerals for the Jones family and Jack was held on July 7. The truck driver was sued, first by the BeamNG highway patrol for $200,000 for taking the life of Jack, then by the remaining members of the Jones family (an aunt, uncle, and grandparents) for $500,000, and then by the Peters family for threatening multiple lives that day, and sued him for $150,000. The truck driver tried proving his case as an "accident" in district court, and eventually lost, which he then decided to bring the case to California supreme court, where he also lost. His case was also discussed in criminal court, where he lost yet again and was sentenced to 25 years in prison for vehicular manslaughter, causing an accident involving death, and causing an accident involving serious injury, and his trucking company fired him instantly after the news of the car wreck spread.

The events in this story still follow the canon of the last story, only 22 years later.
Case: Broken down car leads to massive pileup resulting in absolute destruction, April 17, 2021
Crash Description: The roadster owner, from the last story, is on the I-40 doing a top speed run, where he hits 155. However, he noticed rattling coming from inside his car and other issues, so he slams on the brakes, does a 360, hits the barrier around 20 miles per hour, and ends up in the breakdown lane, where he walks around the vehicle to inspect issues. Suddenly, a dump truck, which has lost control of its brakes, suddenly flies down the interstate, reaching speeds of over 60 miles per hour. The semi driver sees the car and the barrier and thinks he could pull ahead of the car and stop; however, he "misjudges" his turn, slams into the driver's side of the roadster, resulting in the driver being thrown off the bridge onto the hard ground. A family in a Cherrier Vivace S410Q Arsenic sees the accident, and stops, but ends up slamming into the rolled semi going 90. Police and EMS units arrive 5 minutes later thanks to the Vivace calling 911 on impact, and assess the scene, before noticing a guy on the fortunately empty road under the overpass that appeared unconscious. The semi driver and family in the hot hatch were rushed to the hospital. The roadster owner was identified just as "John" and that his car was a total loss. The Vivace and semi still run with minor damage for the Vivace and severe damage for the semi.
Injuries: Josh was killed on impact, as according to EMS records, he fell an estimated 110 feet onto concrete. The semi driver was ejected, launching him away from the edge of the bridge, just 10 feet in front of his truck, and he almost got crushed when it flipped. The family all had severe injuries.
Cars Used: 1994 ETK K-Series, Gavril T75 Dump Box upfit, Cherrier Vivace S410Q Arsenic
    Map Used: Roane County
Aftermath: The family in the Vivace was identified as the family of Phil from the last story. Since Josh was flung and died from the fall, the highway was shut down for 2 months, as the Tennesse state government improved the bridge to protect the safety of Roane County's 500,000 residents. A funeral for Josh was held on April 10. The semi driver was unable to drive after the wreck, while the family bought a Tograc. Josh's family and friends sued the state of Tennesse for $1,000,000 for "unacceptable standards for highway safety". They won the case, and that pushed the movement to increase highway safety, which is currently ongoing from 2021-2025.

Case: Braking late causes accident, August 14, 2017

Crash Description: Two taxi cabs, a Gavril Vertex and Ibishu Pessima, were leaving the same hotel after dropping off passengers. The Vertex left the parking lot, with the Pessima leaving. The driver of the Ibishu was not paying attention and hit the Vertex, sending it out into the street, where a station wagon owned by a wealthy hotel chain owner hit it. The two cab drivers exchanged insurance information before, and they also exchanged insurance with the ETK owner.

Injuries: None, as the safety of the ETK kept the driver uninjured, while the 2 cab drivers were standing on the right side of the cabs, around 50 feet away from the Pessima.

Cars Used: 2011 Gavril Vertex, 1996 Ibishu Pessima, 2016 ETK 854td

    Map Used: Roane County

Aftermath: Since the two taxi cabs were not severely damaged (the Pessima had no damage while the Gavril had driver side damage), the repair process was fairly quick. For the ETK, it had moderate damage, and that was also easy to repair. Both of the taxis remained in service until 2019, when a rumored electric vehicle, codenamed the Vivace E, entered the fleet. Both taxis were decommissioned and sold at auction, with the Pessima selling for $22,000 and the Vertex selling for $15,000.

Loss of Control, Dansworth D2500 Type-D rear engine Coach Bus Run-Off-the-Road and Collision With Terrain, Los Injurus, USA, March 13th, 2018.
    Highway Accident Report

Abstract: On March 14th, 2018, at about 537 pacific daylight time (3:36 pm), a 25-seat Dansworth D2500 Type-D rear engine bus, owned and operated by the Los Injurus Airport Authority, was traveling westbound enroute from Downtown Los Injurus to the Los Injurus Municipal Airport, onboard were the bus driver, an additional reserve driver, and three passengers, about halfway through the trip andafter crossing an elevated bridge, the coach bus departed from the travel lanes, crossing the median and the eastbound lane before departing the side of the cliff, the bus then impacted the terrain and was crushed during the impact sequence. As a result of the accident, the two drivers and two passengers were fatally injured. Only one passenger seated in the middle of the bus survived with serious injuries. There was no post crash fire.

It was determined that the bus driver failed to maintain minimum control of the bus after encountering wet roadway conditions at high speed. It was also noted that the lack of safety guardrail contributed to the bus's departure from the road and impact with terrain.

As a result of this accident investigation, two safety recommendations were published.

(Overview of the damage to the bus)
    • Location: Los Injurus, USA Roadway Directions: Two lanes separated by a median
    • Date & Time: 03/13/2018, 537 PDT Number of Lanes in the Direction: 2
    • Vehicle(s): Dansworth D2500 Type-D rear engine coach bus Road Characteristics: Straight
    • Owner/Operator: Los Injurus Airport Authority Weather: Light Rain
    • Vehicle Damage: Destroyed Light: Day
    • Defining Event: Loss of Control Speed Restriction:
    • Injuries: 4 (Fatal), 1 (Serious)
    • Type: Passenger

    Executive Summary:
On March 14th, 2018, at about 537 pacific daylight time (3:36 pm), a Dansworth D2500 Type-D rear engine bus, owned and operated by the Los Injurus Airport Authority, was traveling westbound enroute from Downtown Los Injurus to the Los Injurus Municipal Airport, onboard were the bus driver, an additional reserve driver, and three passengers, about halfway through the trip and after crossing an elevated bridge, the coach bus departed from the travel lanes, crossing the median and the eastbound lane before departing the side of the cliff, the bus then impacted the terrain and was crushed during the impact sequence. As a result of the accident, the two drivers and two passengers were fatally injured. Only one passenger seated in the middle of the bus survived with serious injuries. There was no post crash fire.

    Investigative Synopsis:
The accident occurred when the coach bus departed from the travel lanes to the left at about 5° departure angle from the roadway. Very limited tire marks were observed on the travel lanes indicating there was limited braking. The driver was unable to stop the vehicle from departing the road. Postaccident examination revealed there was no electronic control module data onboard, so the investigators were unable to study the speed and braking data. The surviving passenger reported that the driver did not apply the brakes in the 30 seconds before leaving the travel lanes.

    Probable Cause:

    • The driver's failure to maintain minimum control of the bus in light wet downhill roadway conditions, which resulted in the total loss of control and departure from the travel lanes.

    Factual Information:

According to the surviving passenger, the purpose of the trip was to transport the passengers to the Los Injurus Municipal Airport. No problems were noted during the short briefing before the start of the trip. About halfway through the trip, the surviving passenger reported that he heard the driver and his assistant discuss the ongoing weather conditions at the westbound lane, he indicated that the drivers seemed relaxed and not worried.

About one minute before the accident, the passenger reported that "they encountered a very limited wet surface", the bus was traveling below the indicated speed limit. When the bus started crossing the westbound bridge, he felt a slight "wobble, the bus started to slowly turn left and right, and the driver was trying to regain control using the wheel". He added that the "wobbling" didn't stop and the bus started turning left and right before completely veering to the left and departing the road. The passenger reported he did not remember anything after the first initial impact, which knocked him unconscious.

A sedan driver traveling uphill on the eastbound lane reported a similar account to the surviving passenger. She reported that the bus was veering left and right while crossing the bridge and eventually departed the road and nearly collided with her vehicle. She stopped the car and called emergency services, who arrived in less than 6 minutes.

An on scene examination of the vehicle revealed that there were no anomalies consistent with a preimpact failure or malfunctions.

    Injuries:
The two bus drivers and two passengers were fatally injured in this motorcoach accident. Only one passenger survived with serious injuries. Autopsy reports from the Los Injurus Office of Chief Medical Examiner state that the deaths were caused by blunt force trauma to the internal organs, extremities, and head. The surviving passenger sustained serious injuries, which included internal blunt force trauma, rib fractures, extremity fractures, lacerations, and contusions.

    Medical History and Toxicology:
Toxicology testing performed on the driver at the Forensic Sciences Laboratory was negative for carbon monoxide, ethanol, and drugs. The accident driver checked “no” on his medical certificate form for all listed conditions, including “sleep disorders, pauses in breathing while asleep, daytime sleepiness, loud snoring.”

    Postaccident Inspections:
The bus was originally built as a school bus and operated as one for the previous 15 years. According to the manufacturer company, A “type D school bus” is a body installed upon a chassis, with the engine mounted in the front, midship or rear, with a gross vehicle weight rating of more than 10,000, designed for carrying more than ten persons. The engine may be behind the windshield and beside the driver’s seat; it may be at the rear of the bus, behind the rear wheels, or midship between the front and rear axles. The entrance door is ahead of the front wheels. A type D school bus has a maximum length of 45 feet, and can carry up to 24 passengers.

All major mechanical systems were examined, including the steering, suspension, and braking systems. No damage was noted to any of the steering system components; all connections were solid and free of wear or excess play. The air brake system was examined and found to be functional and undamaged, passing all system checks; the brake disc rotors and pads were found to be within specified wear limits. The tires were all of the same size—the size specified by the manufacturer—and tread depths were found to exceed minimum requirements.

Maintenance records pertaining to the accident bus, obtained from the operator, included approximately 2 month of daily vehicle inspection reports (DVIR), as well as 6 years (March 2012—March 2018) of maintenance and inspection records. No major mechanical system defects of the accident bus were noted in the DVIRs provided. The accident bus’s maintenance records noted a variety of regularly scheduled maintenance and as-needed repairs.

    Accident Bus Damage:
The primary mechanism of physical damage to the motorcoach occurred after the vehicle struck the terrain (after traveling off the road), the vehicle came to the rest upright at hilly terrain, there was no post crash fire. Extensive crushing damage was noted throughout the wreckage, most notably in the front and back sections (figure 1).

    (Figure 1: Final Resting Position)
The motorcoach sustained extensive damage to its front end. The front of the motorcoach was pushed upward. The front axle was pushed back and upward such that the front tires were not in full contact with the ground. The floor of the motorcoach adjacent to the front axle wheel wells was buckled upward. The seats on the right and left side, in the area of the front axle wheel wells, were pushed upward.
The back end sustained extensive crushing damage, but it was pushed upward and downward during the accident sequence. The engine sustained extensive damage. Examination of the vehicle revealed that there were no anomalies consistent with a preimpact failure or malfunctions.

    Notes:
    1. The emergency response was timely and adequate.
    2. None of the following were factors in the accident: (1) design and construction of the roadway surface; (2) any other vehicle; (3) alcohol or prescription, over-the-counter, or illicit drug use by the motorcoach driver; and (4) vehicle mechanical defects or deficiencies.
