So I'm sure most of you know who FrIzErIs is. if you dont, he makes awesome movies with BeamNG Drive. And I also make videos that are inspired by him, including Seconds From Disaster. So I've been running out of ideas for my seconds from disasters, I have been looking them up. But I just want to know if you ever seen any tragic accident in your life? Or know of anything that happened IRL?
ok, The history of disasters is actually really interesting and it interests me way more than it should. These are in no order, just writing what comes to my mind I will keep updating this and adding more and more: First, some of my country's history: 1. The bus catastrophe near Nažidla, 8th March, 2003 A bus carrying 52 people - a team of swimmers and their families was driving on a narrow road near Kaplice. The driver was inexperienced and tired - he went into the opposite direction, drove straight through the guardrails and crashed. 20 people dead.
52 People In the bus, only 10 lived Accident happened in Ukraine, in 2010 A bus drove into a train and it crushed the bus. 42 people DIED. --- Post updated --- Image. SCARY?
2. The Chicago streetcar accident, 25th May, 1950 At the time on the most famous Chicago streetcars, the so-called “Green Hornets” crashed at the intersection of State Street and 63rd Street, colliding with a tanker truck coming out of a flooded underpass. Thirty four people died and fifty were injured, a lot of the casualties happened because of the windows with steel bars across them and the fact that there were only two narrow doors that were hard to operate and that opened inside. Fun fact: The crash is the motor vehicle collision with the highest death toll with only two vehicles. Sorry there are no images, I don’t have access to my computer.
3. The Mont Blanc tunnel fire, 24th March, 1999 You probably know about this one - FrIzErIs even made a SFD inspired by this one in S01E09. A semi truck hauling margarine caught fire in the tunnel for unknown reasons, possibly because a cigarette butt thrown by one of the drivers passing the truck. As it turned out, when margarine melts, it is real goddamn flammable. Like, really flammable. After the margarine caught fire, an inferno began in the tunnel. Firefighters found only remains of car frames because of the heat afterwards. People couldn’t escape the tunnel, the emergency shelters were not enough - welp, in the end thirty nine people lost their lives. Emergency services couldn’t enter the tunnel for literal days after the fire because of the heat and smoke. --- Post updated --- There is a mod called “Subway”. I mean, it would be hard, but theoretically, there are tram (or subway, idk) lines on some of the streets in Belasco. Just centre the tram to ride on the tracks and let it go down the sloped road. Then put a truck in front of it, some propane tanks, and bam. Unnecessary effort to create a single accident. Edit: found it! Here it is: https://beamng.com/threads/dmm512-diesel-locomotive.57150/ It is under “wagons etc”
Accident happened in France, 2002 year. A tanker truck crashed into another truck. I don't really know other things, but looks like both drivers ded --- Post updated --- Some other IRL accidents, maybe first one is hard to do, but other three you can easily use (no need to recreate them) I mean the one with bicycles
I've never been in an accident but I know the Fort Worth accident involving 100 cars and trucks here is the picture:
4. A story without words --- Post updated --- Well, in here, a certain urban legend exists. The legend is freeway D1. It rarely ever has a day without a car accident. When there is such a day, it is a reason to celebrate. Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, the biggest car accident that ever happened on freeway D1. It is... 5. The white darkness pileup, 20th March (they all in March lol) 2008 The accident started like every other classic winter crash: in the snowstorm with low visibility, icy roads and bad sight in the storm two cars crashed. They got out, no one was injured, so hey, lets get this over and exchange insurance details and phone numbers. This is when problems started. No one could see more than twenty meters in front of the car, and more people got to the accident and could not stop in time. In the end, the count of damaged vehicles was the highest in the freeway's history: 231 vehicles were involved. Thankfully, only 30 people were injured and there were no casualties. So yeah, just a crash in winter conditions with low visibility might be interesting.
This accident happened during a winter storm with freezing rain, sleet and snow, so it can be assumed that the track was slippery and some car or truck may have lost control, causing the pileup. And the accident happened on February 11, 2021 2:30PM
A series of crashes occurred due to the drowsy driving of the bus driver in the tunnel. Date: 2016-7-17
