Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate it. I agree that the free cam is one good tool for track testing. It seems, however, that very little of what I said got through. Maybe language barrier? Why don't you try and have another look at my post?
RFactor2 is also great sim in my opinion. They do a tyre simulation thing, ( I have no idea on the technics details) but for me when I had my T-300 wheel I found it the most realistic force feedback of all. Then I had to sell the wheel and I don't play anymore, and I miss it.... Also now the new BeamNg update, I really want to give it a try with a wheel ...
I tried the demo. Didn't like it at all. Very dated graphics and bad UI and controls. Car was driving itself most of the time. Yes BeamNG and other driving sims are best experienced with a wheel, preferably a clutch and shifter too.
yeah sure, devs spent about a decade working on the physics engine to make sure its the most realistic vehicular physics game out there, just to tone it down to arcade again? yeah no never happening. you want nfs arcade, go play nfs. this is hardcore vehicular physics.
Had another thought: since theres already "Arcade gearbox" and "Arcade ABS" settings so maybe "Arcade grip"? Like a 100x multiplier.
Yes i have, maybe a setting for gravity multiplier? Super easy to do on UE4/Source but don't know about this engine.
Look on the environment tab, there's a gravity slider. So yes it's possible, maybe you don't even need to increase grip since gravity can do that for you. And you can do it right now. Didn't think 'bout that.
Yeah but if the game's physics is correct (which it most likely is) then gravity will affect longitudinal friction, which will slow the car down. You want a setting to only affect lateral friction instead.
Guess you've got your arcade handling then, hope you're happy ! --- Post updated --- True but it's the best we have right now. It still makes the car grip a lot more.
