From what I see, BeamNG is only available at 0.23.5.1 on Humble Bundle. Does this mean Humble Bundle is officially over with BeamNG?
I believe in the update discussion thread one of the devs said it was because the file size is too big for what humblebundle is willing to handle, they may be able to negotiate something, but maybe not.
It's basically the opposite, HB does not support BeamNG.Drive anymore... The game got too large to be able to be uplaoded via their automated services, so now things need to be done fully manually by humans on their side and this takes time... 0.24 (and the patches) will reach HB eventually, but for the time being it will unfortunately be heavily delayed compared to Steam.
Well... thats bad. Are there any plans to fix this problem? cause .drive will get bigger i believe so i think there needs to be a solution for that. (maybe steam licences for those who paid it at HB?) As i know it was able to get BeamNG.drive on steam for free (2015) if you owned a copy of the game you purchased on this website.
It's unfortunately not really within our reach to actually fix this, we can just hope that HB increases the limit... As far as I am aware, everyone that bought it on HB still has the option to get a steam key from them, but i understand that this is not an alternative for everyone...
The moment we released the update, we asked HB to update the files on their end. We are still waiting for their reply, i hope they can update them soon. Everyone who bought the game on HB always also gets a steam key.
Dear BeamNG Team! I´m playing the HB Version and you´ve done a great job so far, in my opinion. Is there a chance to release the game on GOG? I would buy it a second time. Best regards, F.
Yes it seems that HB seems to take quite some time to get this update thru, it's sad we have no information from their side so far. If this problem doesn't get solved on the HB side I would happily buy the game again on another platform too, I don't want to be forced to be using the game through Steam. For those who bought the game recently on HB this is a rather not so fortunate situation imo.
You may want to censor the key in that photo. Also, you might wanna get off of those pirating websites before your computer gets AIDS. We can see your name. There are so many things wrong with this photo lmao.
I agree, however, what is the point of buying it on HB if you are just going to have to use Steam to redeem your key? I mean, I'm not sure if you could buy it on Humble Bundle before it was available on Steam, but the fact that everyone has one just tells me that they probably don't like Steam.
Before the game went public on Steam, BeamNG used a different service called FastSpring, which was how I remember buying the game. But I think even by the time I bought it, to get automatic updates, you had to be able to access the Steam listing so they provided codes to activate the game there probably as far early as February 2014, when it was announced as part of their Steam Greenlight submission. I think the switch to Humble Bundle occurred at around the same time as the public Steam release of the game, if not on the same day.
I was aware of Fastspring being used, as I looked at the price of the game when I first wanted it, but I thought it was too high, so I didn't buy it. However, I know it has been on Humble Bundle for a long time, evidenced by the old logo at the bottom of the old blog (along with an ancient video). But yeah, it would make sense if it came out at the same time as the Steam release.
Alright, now this : The download figure changed from 9.8GB to 10.8GB but the version name remains the same So is 0.24 a 10.8GB download ?
I think you´re right. After strating the download the file is called "BeamNG.drive-0.24.0.1.13359.zip".
HB seems to be updated https://www.beamng.com/threads/0-24-discussion-thread.83197/page-43#post-1395806
