Using a Logitech G920 and has always had a struggle getting beamng ffb to feel as 'tight' and predictable as other high end games. My steering wheel settings: Strength 500-1000 (1000 if using power steering, which is not enabled in any car by default) Smoothing 20 Now heres the thing im asking others if they do: Side g-forces: 400% Can be set to 0-20% off the shelf but i open the inputmap itself and increase the g-force value to 4 I feel that this makes the car more predictable and way tighter. There might be a max value that limits it to say 200% but 4 is what i use atm. Other things i definitely think makes a difference is the curves of throttle, brake and clutch pedals. I usually set throttle to 1.5-2 and that helps a ton with the twitchiness ive experienced in BeamNG when drifting, compared to other games.
FFB Strengh 500-1000 ??? what I play on 400 with 120 smoothing, and 100% side accel. forces. All on a stock G27 wheel, idk about you, but my wheel is already rattling like crazy on my settings, while also using a custom FFB Response Curve
Yeah i dont know how i can run it that high, back in the day it would fling my hands off the wheel in no time. I did increase from 380 when i increased side accel forces to 200%. I could probably keep it at around 400 if i used 100% side accel forces. Did you too increase the firces in the input file? If so, i guess you too think it tightens up things?
I did, I went with 20% at first, which is the max. in the FFB menu in game. I set it to 50, then to 100%, which was ok. I am now trying 200% to see if I like it, I'll update soon what I think about it
Nice! 200% might be abit much and i did have to increase Strength since Side Accel doesnt seem to be effected by the Strength value and instead i might have lost alittle detail overall.
What wheels are you all using? I tried 20% side accel on my Fanatec CSW 2.5 and with my existing settings, that was more than plenty feedback for me to know what the tires/vehicle are doing.
When I was still using my G29, these are the settings I was playing with: While not the best they could've been, they gave me a good amount of information about what the car was doing
