THE IDEA Hey Hey its duck just started on working on this z today I've started on the body and this is probably where ill leave it for today (ill post a before and after pic) and then from there we can see more progress (ill try and do daily updates here) wish me luck in this adventure lets see how this goes DISCLAIMER I'm in 9th grade right now and I have school and a girlfriend and friends this project isn't going to be fast it's going to go kinda slow project please be patient with me and don't be angry or upset if something you suggest is not added or used. and I'm new to forums so idk how this all works tbh and I'm trying to figure it out still but it's going good though. THIS IS THE BODY I STARTED OFF WITH THE PLAN and here is the plan so far for all the parts and stuff if anyone has any ideas on what to add or what they want to see feel free to offer your ideas. Not everything will be in this mod it's not YOUR mod it is MY mod so don't be mad if it's not in the final product, please. Stock/base car -light housing needs to be remade -body panels and other accessories need to be separated from the body -suspension bits need to be put in place and/or scaled properly to fit the car -interior needs to be put together propererly Aftermarket "bolt-on" parts -tubular suspension -turbo kit -wings (ducktail and spoilers) -splitters and side skirts -fender flares -light covers (clear and not clear) -different style bumper(s) -roll cage (4 points) -seats and harnesses -steering wheel -door cards -coil overs -different headlights/tail lights -different style hood(s) -different style mirrors Custom parts -full tube chassis -front tube chassis -6 point roll cage -full custom dash and interior -front clip instead of bumpers fenders and a hood -engine swap (engines are to be determined) -trans missions swaps -molded wide body UPDATE!! (as of 10/28/2021) --- Post updated --- So I want to add onto this and ask a question should I stop going for a very accurate Datsun 240z and still call it that or should I go for something that's a bit more like "based" on the 240z it would keep pretty much the same bodywork but suspension bits might be changed up a bit and engine stuff (on the stock one) may be a bit of the interior? It's an idea and id name it something different from the z. I got this idea from the Presu it gave me the idea maybe it can be more based off it but not exact. this makes it easier on me (which in the long run would make this project a bit faster) but also lets me be a bit more creative with the stock version of the car but also not worry to much if this or that is accurate to the IRL z. currently I'm leaning toward going down the based on the z but not exact route but I want to ask and see if anyone has any ideas. thanks for anyone that actually sees this and responds this helps my decision a lot easier but I will try and get a lot of opinions. UPDATE!! (as of 10/29/2021) I've done some more work on the body I still want to work on the topo more toward the rear and around the wheel wells in both the front and rear but I've got the front and rear together ish with the lights and light panel/ license plate holder done then the front grille and bumper I didn't work on the rear bumper though. I'm super tired so after this update, I'm going to bed so ill respond to any replies tomorrow. anyways here are some pictures here ya go.
that's a great idea, no one needs 100% accurate model of the datsun 240z.If its a litle more based it will be better for adding more stuff to it

yeah while that would be great I just started highschool and that's already something on my plate with this trying to keep it like that and keep irl is going to make the project take a lot longer so that's where I'm stuck right now but I think I've decided on going toward the based on route just gotta come up with a name though. --- Post updated ---
ive been thinking about making mutliple different lights like halo lights and led lights etc. ill also have headlight covers both clear and not clear --- Post updated --- --- Post updated --- it aint bad its looking fairly good so far ive done a bit more work but ive got im pretty sure pretty much this entire weekend so hopefully ill get the stock/base model of the car done this weekend I need to finish the rear end pretty much and the front grill and bumper. I need to come up with a name and also figure out what trim levels Ill have so I might be able to get all that done this weekend (probably not). but wish me luck ig its not going to be the best mod ever

Thanks, bro but I don't deserve that kind of credit I don't do this professionally or anything I just do it for the fun of it but thanks it means a lot but it definitely wont be the best if you want to see one of the best mods (imo) go check out this guy idk what his name is on forums but I know him on discord as AX and he's making a sick pessima mod
The modeling looks very good! If I was you I would try to make it as accurate as possible to the real car but you do the way you want to
That's totally fine! We all have things that distract us or is more important, like for example school. Take your time, and a little advise; don't start working on something else before you're happy with the underbody! Take one peice at a time..
yeah but also I'm starting to have a feeling I'm a bit in over my head and tbh there are some other projects id rather work on... and there is someone else making a datsun z that looks a lot better tbh than mine... so idk we will just have to see I'm considering making a kit car out of the covet (kinda like the df goblin) it would make it rear wheel drive on a tubular frame maybe have some kind of turbo kit option there is more to this idea but I might do this first and maybe work on the z when I have more skill but I think we will just wait when I do decide I will update in here and link to the new forum for my new project
I understand how that is man, With work school and my girlfriend, I have 0 time to code and even play games. And then I get on break and magically have time again. I know how it is man. Take all the time in the world
well thank yall for the understanding, I think what I might end up doing is an Etk-I mod. Ive worked on a 3d model for a while now more of just a fun project but its turning out to be pretty cool at least I think. But I wont say toooo much but it its got a twin-turbo I6 engine. And a custom molded wide body. But problem would be J beam and all that (stuff I dont know how to do).
