Storyline

So, as the devs said, this will be a racing game.
Will there be a storyline to the game (i.e. you're a retired race pilot or something and you wanna mess some shiz up) or will it just be an out of context "race against these guys" sort of thing?

 

1. This will not be a racing game, the devs say that this will be a ''simulator''-ish game, it's going to be about the physics.

I don't mean to be harsh but I don't personally think that a plot is a good idea or even works in racing games.
AFAIK this is going to be a kind of sandbox affair, so no real need for a storyline at all anyway.

 

I believe they said they would like to have a career, but to what "career" entails...no one knows.

Seriously now, i.e. means "in example", I didn't say it was gonna be that, I said it could be that.

Also, Gabe said this would be a physics-based racing game.

 

I think there might be races in "career", I think it will have "deliver the package" and some other driving too.

 

Yeah, probably, but I doubt there will be a storyline.
Or it'll be a very cheesy Driver 1 sort of storyline...

It'll probably be some "don't ask questions, just race these guys" sort of thing.
Not something like: "Hey, my name is John, I come from NY, I had a trouble childhood, but now my life has changed. I am now a streetracer"... :/

And how did you actually imagine a storyline getting visualized?
Yeah, the guys of BeamNG are great with cars, but not with persons I think...

The reason why I acted the way I did in the first comment is because it is pretty much behond obvious that there won't be a (decent) storyline any time soon.

 

There are no drivers or passengers inside the car. Making a storyline in a game without people would be really strange, unless the devs want to turn it into some trippy ghost game about a spirit who possesses cars. I think the game would be better without.

Seriously now, i.e. means "that is", e.g. means "example". If you really don't know and want proof, check this out.
Also, next time, don't just assume people would know about your made-up acronyms.

Second thing, I don't think gabester ever said that. A quick search revealed that.
