I'd be careful going down that content rabbit hole, from what I recall, the '79 gen stout was effectively just the hilux/pickup cab plopped on the older 1960 RK40 stout's chassis (below), meaning it's also a completely different chassis and drivetrain underneath.
I get what you mean, this would just be the 79-83 cab on my existing frame with the stout bed. Would simplify things a bit more.
Nice progress so far. We need more trucks in this game. As for motivation, you are doing way better than I could ever do at the moment.

well, I'm hoping it works well on beamng drive, on rigs off rods I'm pretty sloppy, it looked like I was playing with some off road drive vehicle on the playstation 1. don't get me wrong
