Update Speculation thread

Unpopular opinion:

the bolide could certainly use a remaster, but it's actually pretty fun to drive and use in its current state. I use it as my go-to race car and I personally don't have that many complaints about it.

 

Yeah Bolide is fine to drive... but overall quality is still way beyond the current quality of other cars.

 

Same here. I only recently upgraded the rest of my PC from win7 when the CPU was at normal prices. Just waiting for a GPU. Haven't bought a new AAA game in 3 or 4 years.

Where did they say that? I only joined the forum to keep up on what they're doing, but they've been silent as of late, favoring twitter, and now they're also pretty much silent on twitter.

I just looked at the past history of teaser tuesdays from the twitter feed, and they've only done it 3 or 4 times in the past 4 months.

I'm sure that's a lot of the work, but the remastered maps are a lot more than just texture work. But I did kind of forget about that, they might be doing full PBR for everything that's already been remastered.

 

What is that... "thing" ?..

 

They said it here on the Speculation Thread some time ago, I believe something around 3 months ago or so, as we were hyped for the regular update cicle, can't exactly find it right now, but it was one of the devs who stated so.

The new front looks sick

 

If someone here is a bit talented with Photoshop, I think that it would be quite easy to put that new front fascia on an not remastered H-series

You may say it's a theory, and not realistic, but what if the „bigger things” that TDev said refers to stepping out of EA (=Early Access on Steam).

Reasons, why this could happen:


-Devs (now) don’t follow the 3-months update-cycle

-This update looks HUGE – lot of content (They maybe want to release ots of content now in 1-2 update)

-The beamng videos no longer have the „Available as early access on steam” text

Doubt it, Beam is a long way from being out of early access. Also, they’re only out of the 3 month cycle because this is going to be the biggest update in a while. I think they’ll return to the 3 month cycle after this one.


Also, do we have any predictions as to when the update will release? I know they said mid November but what does that mean? The cars shown in teasers seem pretty complete and they’ve definitely gotten stuff done, so could it be this week?

 

maybe, but not likely. My money's on next week tbh

 

My money's on either the last 5 days of November or mid-December. The latter seems the most logical to my mind.

To get out of EA they need to finish the career mode, so I don't think so if they are revamping stuff and adding some car. But I don't know if they have being working behind the scens for years now and they got it done. That whould be awesome.

 

There was also no EA note on the PBR material trailer from last update cycle.
