Ah I see now. Glad you liked my version. It seems that Agent_Y is really the best person to tackle this problem but I don't think he follows this thread anymore so I think we've got as good as we'll get
I do follow it but I don't like how everyone is putting the responsibilty about this mod on me when I only updated the mod to a bit more modern standards (but still not up to date with other mods). I know nothing about sounds, I have no idea how it should sound, I don't have any samples, I only did what I can do to make this mod a bit better. It's not like I can do everything, I did all I could, stop expecting me to fix the sounds when I don't know how to.
I'm not only talking about you, it seems like half of the people in this thread act if fixing this mod was my responsibility or something because I already started it. And I only did it for myself but I figured it would be nice to share it because I made the skins work. The sounds don't bother me too much, I just always make my volume lower when using this mod, I'm used to it so I was never considering fixing them.
I understand. Nobody is forcing you to keep working on fixing and updating this mod, although it would be great if you did.
After several hours of working on fixing Belaz engine sounds, I didn't manage to fix them, because trying to turn the engine down means that Belaz cannot be seen or heard, so my last resort is to have someone who still owns Belaz creatures natiq kamal publish a sound folder here . Then I will replace the audio folders with Belaz (re-uploaded) and everything should work fine so I'll post it here on the forum. Equally, the owner of the first Belaz can do what I wrote above and publish.
You messaged me but you probably have me blocked or something so I can't reply. No I have no idea where the original Belaz mod is, and as far as I know it had the same sounds, but they sounded different in the old updates.
I think someone must have done a Belaz update and tinkering with the sounds. Rather, it may not be the fault of the Beamng drive upgrade. If someone had the old Belaz, they could compare the sound files. I also noticed that one sound file has 2 sounds (not duplicated) I don't know how to ring them.
Thanks for the info! Belaz at first was as fast as 300MPH! (Even faster than one of my automation cars.) But no more It seems like I am driving a real belaz (with a top speed of 64km/h i.e. 33mph) It too is a noice experience but I am dying for that torque speed and POWERR! But think may have to wait for that...........-_- PLS help me fix that. I really think that there is an error with the transmition or the engine. --- Post updated --- I am missing the speed and carying the cars on the back of it (and dumping `em down) --- Post updated --- Or crushing em downnnn!
Hey there. I got no reply for my message --- Post updated --- I read the full forum It turns out that the Belaz (re-uploaded) seems dead It is as slow as snails and it is underpowered For some reason when the engine locked up (due to overrev) I was close enough to it there was absoultly(sorry if spelling is wrong) silent. And then only thing I heard was the sound of the transmission. It sounded like a DCT but i`m not sure why And on Neutral I can also change the gears (while it is only supposed to have 1-i.e no transmission). Did you see that agent-y?
Update-it seems like the sharp sound of the engine is actually it`s turbo charger --- Post updated --- Sorry
The Belaz was never supposed to go 300mph... It was just a lazy low effort mod that made the engine 100 times more powerful. The original was always slow. As far as I remember the one here has a fast version. And sorry I know I made a big mess with the transmissions and stuff by trying to make a realistic drivetrain which doesn't seem to be possible in the game currently. I don't even know if this mod works anymore, I haven't used it for months. I think you should just use my first version with only the fixed skins instead of the later messy ones with broken drivetrains. The issue you had was because the mod has 2 engines + 2 electric motors and when you overreved it then the engines broke but the motors still worked, irl it shouldn't be possible to overrev them at all because they run at constant RPM unaffected by the driver input, the driver actually only controls the motors... Someone with a ton of LUA knowledge could try to remake this mod's powertrain properly, with realistic custom devices such as: 2 special engines that individually generate sound (which would have to be not as loud as it is now), run at full throttle at all times regardless of user input, have separate fuel tanks and can be separately turned off via key bindings 2 electric generators connected to the engines that convert engine power into electric power like in electric batteries Then the electric motors that treat those generators as fuel sources, and can be turned off separately as well Obviously this is way too complex for me so I can't do anything about it at all, you should just use the older version.
My best guess, is to make a "dummy load" to take away the power from the combustionEngine, then use lua to "measure" energy taken and use that energy to charge the battery. The process have to be automatic, and player throttle only controls the output motor(s) power.
