So I have a few engine sounds I want to use for the T-Series, but the problem is I'm not really that good at modding. I don't know how to an sfxfolder for the engine sounds, nor do I know how to make a constructed engine sound folder. Could someone help me with that? I have the engine sounds if you ever want to mess with them.
For starters you can make a sound folder in your user folder the beamng and put two subfolders it called blends and engine. Make a few new folders in the engine folder and name each of them after each engine sound, drag the samples into each corresponding folder. As for the blend files you can copy one of the 0.10 blend files from gameengine\sound\art\blends. (E.G. L6) and paste as many copies as needed for each engine sound in the blend folder you just created. Once you open each blend file, you can replace the foldername/samplename/rpm with the the information from your samples and folder names and rpms. Once you got that done, rename them to the name of your engine sounds, but keep the .sfxBlend2D.json, and save the blend file(s) then make a folder called semi in the vehicles folder in the beamng user folder and copy the vanilla semi_engine.jbeam file from base folder and paste it in the user vehicle folder. Open the file scroll down to where it says soundConfig, and change the sampleName to the name of your samples and do the sample for soundConfigExhaust it you have and exhaust sample. Then save the file and click back onto the game screen and press Ctrl+r if you already have the T-Series loaded to reset the vehicle and you should hear the sound change. If you don't have the T-Series loaded, simply loading it should apply the sound. If don't want to use the stock engine, change the name of the file to what ever you want, but keep the .jbeam at the end. Open the file and change the name on line 2, but keep the Semi part, then change the name on line 5. Save the file than reset the vehicle and the name should be changed so you have a separate engine for your sound. Feel free to ask any questions if needed. Hope this helped!
