I have it set to 100 inertia and 0 lock to horizon. It's quite nice compared to the static in car camera, but still far from harshness of reality I think. More violent shakes with vision blurs and temporary blackouts would be a non-gory way to add more human factor to the game.
As a mod I think it would work well but if it were to be a function added to the game, that'd be a no from me. I think BeamNG is supposed to be more of a physics simulator rather than simulation of a person inside a car. Visual effects would also probably cause some performance issues and would take an insanely long time to make properly functional in game. Think about how long it took for them to reach the stage we're at now with PBR.
While the game does have it it's still limited to the driver view, wouldn't mind seeing something similar to this in chase/orbit cams as an option
This is for chase too. You can use a slider which changes how independent your camera is in chase mode to the car.
It's meant to do whatever the camera does in some Michael Bay movies, shakes so much you can't see a thing, and they think it makes the movie better lol
I think it improves sense of speed - not violent camera earthquakes or whatever in Michael Bay movies, but subtle wobbling like in GRID. Yes, there are FOV settings that can do just that, but they're not beneficial for people with smaller monitors. High FOV on a 250mm monitor means you can see jack all...
