Hi all. After investigating a bit i found out that the 500 giardiniera had a carburetor configuration probably exclusive of its engine, sinsce it had the ''sogliola'' 2 cylinder wich was basically the normal engine turned 90° clockwise (with some differeces of course). this is the Weber 26 OC (OC being the code meaning its for this flat engine) it was placed directly on the heads with this particular shaped gasket also the exaust pipe is much more slim than its classic counter part
ooh that's a good one too. i'll have to think how i'll transpose that to a f4 engine. it shall be easier, it looks like the gardiniera engine was turned on it's side for it to fit, my block does curently and i shall have spare room at the end. i'll keep this one in mind too. also is it me or it became transversal too?
no no, the block is still longitudinal as you can see here this engine is the one also mounted on the later versions of the fiat 126 (a little bigger of course, maybe 700cc or more, but basically the same). The big thing to do i think its the heat extractor fan, since this design is not suitable for a boxer. But i found out that the DAF 33 had a boxer with an heat extractor fan placed directly on the crankshaft. I think combining this this fan design with the giardiniera carburetor design should make a nice space-saving engine
i quite like it, but i think it needs less tubing and pipeing, to make it more realistic. maybe a more enclosing ''air jacket'' to maximize air flow. but i think that's it, the piccolina its just a simple cheap italian car from the 60s, it doesent have a lot of performance engeenirig behind it, just cost-saving engeeniring AH! also dont forget the pipeing for the interior heating
there is a exauste layer i forgot about, hang on. basicaly it's the same as the normal exauste --- Post updated --- got it, thx^^ --- Post updated --- well we have an engine guys i thing
I saw Piccolina Giardiniera IT'S AWESOME! --- Post updated --- I know that you won't get other suggestions or ideas, but i'd like to show ya these things!! In order these are: Seat 600, Spanish Fiat 600, with 4-doors, Fiat 600 Argentinian facelift, Seat 600 Formichetta, jugoslavian facelift (Zastava 600/750/850) and 600 Coupè Moretti Hope you like it!
ideas are allways welcome i think. but yeah, that's quite a lot to add. but i like the idea of growing the piccolina's catalogue
Actually I have a idea… How about make some World War II Model like the "Kübelwagen" and the "Kommandeurswagen", I know the piccolina is a italian car, but just bear with me for a sec. You see, Italy was allied with Germany in World War II. And in real life the Germans made the Kübelwagen based on a Beetle, and the Beetle's basic mechanical stuff is about the same as the Piccolina. So, how about this piece of background history? The Italians saw what the Germans did with the Beetle (or something equivalent in the BeamNG Universe), and decided to do something similar? It will be easy to make a Military Spec Piccolina: Remove all the chrones and civilian stuffs, add some anti-air light covers, and put some bigger tyres on the rims, job done. Something like a Kübelwagen is a bit harder. you have to cut the Piccolina to the floor pan, put on a steel made body, add some anti-air stuffs, job done. Of corse, if you are a Pacifist or want to keep this cute little car Post-War, it's completely fine, and I can fully understand that. Thank you! P.S. Some pictures of the Kübelwagen and the Kommandeurswagen.
Hmmm, it would be more work again. And i'm basing my canon mostly on fiat. I'll do some research on that. I guess it wont be a piccolina, but it would use the same engine, wheel train, mybr it can give some "early sits" made out of metal tubes and stretched cloth. But i can't promise that i will do it.
hey i have an idea for piccolina do like the junkyard version its just rusty it have many relplaced other parts its just old rusty sad car
There were some topolinos apparently. I kinda guess i could desing a piccolina's topolino of some sort. The 500 was a neoretro redesign of the topolino, maybe i can do something similar. In line 4 engine ladder châssis, 2 sits, maybe one int the trunk. And for the military variant, 2 comes in my mind. That topolino with a diffrent rear portion to have more sits and no roof. And a second onr that could be a "prototype" for the current piccolina, by that i mean the brend new flat4, the monocoque body (maybe it could be the schwimmwagen), etc... More food for thoughts --- Post updated --- That's a good idea too, i think a junk yard version should have been in the base game to go with the other trashed cars. Especialy since it's a car that would be prompt to rusting, regarding every car of it's aera.
This thread is really cool, and your photoshop is amazing! I feel like before a ton more suggestion get piled on, you should start a bit of progress
That's a good idea too, i think a junk yard version should have been in the base game to go with the other trashed cars. Especialy since it's a car that would be prompt to rusting you are a yup, it's happening tho i'm affraid i'm not out of the concept art stage for most of of the stuff i planned to add. so it's what will be up for a while here. my blender skils are still laking and i do that for fun on the side, so i should say 3d models and even playable cars are not to be soon i'm affraid. but i want those, so i'll push those as far as i can.
I have an idea and I will send a draw at weekend. It will be a some thing between a piccolina and VW type 87 with 4wd
