Just a couple of suggestions for additional functionality of the current Driver View camera:

    1) Allow camera left/right pan to be tied to wheel inputs - Having this function is very useful for single screen users that prefer a more realistic FOV. Typically, using a calculated FOV has a "zoomed in" effect, which makes looking ahead particularly difficult for single screen set-ups. If camera pan could be tied (on a slider) to wheel input rotation/percentage, it makes looking ahead somewhat easier.

    2) Allow a specific value for "look left/right" view - As is, look left/right is set to 90 degrees, which makes looking ahead quite difficult, unless you are making a 90 degree turn. Generally in other sims where this is an option, I tend to use around 45 degrees, thus allowing a slight look ahead to left/right, as you would IRL when say approaching a junction. Also makes viewing side mirrors much easier.

I assume you refer to point 1. Thanks for the heads-up, I was not aware this had already been implemented. I'll give it a try!

EDIT: Not sure the Relative camera does either point 1 or 2. Just tried it, and the view neither ties to the steering input, nor does the camera return to centre once panned left/right. With the Driver view, the left/right snaps back to centre once released. With Relative, the camera stays in the panned position, and if "reset camera to centre" key-bind is used to look straight ahead, the seat position is also reset.

You might wanna try the LookAhead camera mod, it rotates the camera based on the steering angle. Works pretty well

Yes, thanks. I found the same mod earlier today, and have been using it since. Actually, I'm fairly sure I've used this mod at some time in the past too, had just forgotten about it.

The LookAhead mod does work very well. The UI App allows some configuration, and I've got it working now to my preference: can definitely recommend.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but does anyone know if the glance left/right adjustment in point 2 of the original post is possible at all? I find the 90 degree look left/right to be too much on a single screen: 45 degrees would be much easier. I appreciate there is no slider in game for this, but is it possible to say modify a line in the player config files?

I don't think there is a way to change the amount of degrees the camera rotates by. I definitely see it becoming a reality in one of the next game updates
