    again, worse FPS
tested on a laptop with an I5-7200U, Geforce 940MX, 8gb ram, 1080p, very prone to high temps
DX11 got about 30FPS on normal settings on gridmap with stock D series default, CPU at about 75c
vulkan ran at about 25-27 fps consistently same settings and the CPU and GPU ran much hotter, at more like 85c

I still haven't tested the GTX 670 but I will do that in a second.

Selecting the Normal graphics preset hangs my game for a few minutes and then crashes

    Specs:
    Windows 10 Home 20H2 build 19042.1055
    GTX 970 (driver ver 471.11)
    Intel i7-6700k
    16gb ram

Edit: after re-launching it does apply the normal graphics preset, but either way my frame rate is still around 10-13 (tested on east coast map)

So with new driver Vulkan indeed works, also with DX11 I can manage 9 cars and with Vulkan 12 cars with keeping 60fps somewhat steadily, that is 2 vehicles for each core which is pretty good, although I do get quite lot of hiccups as fps drops below 60 when cars are spawning etc, it still is quite lot for this small number of cores and definitely it is way to get past limited number of cars being limited by IPC.

BTW, Your FPS box there at the top is blocking close menu button, I think it should be moved towards right by 32 pixels or something like that or then it should be something you can click trough, but maybe centering to window would be possible, idk.

But now I don't have hardware monitor + ton of other issues with these new drivers that are not really so great for my system, so do I play with more cars or have working system ;D

    Edit:
Apparently, if I have Vulkan version running windowed, pause the physics and minimize the window, then do something else (open other software etc), when I switch to BeamNG it becomes non responsive and some weirdness in window drawing happens, when I hower over min, max, close button of the window, there is border of some other window appearing and it is partially transparent, but game is not resuming and has to be forcefully closed.

    Edit2:
For some reason, my fps is capped to around 118fps, I have all fps limiters disabled and no vsync, but I can't get more than ~118fps, not sure if this happens for others too?:
    upload_2021-7-1_10-30-22.png
Weirdly, restarting game solved this, but when I close game from X, I get BeamNG stopped working box and sometimes this too:
    upload_2021-7-1_10-34-16.png

Also being capped to 118fps, I think that could of been nvidia fps limiter not releasing limit until game restart, well still learning, this new thing seem to be working quite differently from old one in some regards.

Just to provide some basic information before I get to any real testing:
    Windows 10 Pro 19042.928
RTX 3080 465.89 (Don't worry, this will be updated before I complain about bugs)
    R9 5900x
    32GB RAM
    1440p

Like others, fullscreen is broken for me and Vulkan safemode is also much worse than not-safe-mode. Performance improvements seem pretty significant though. With Ultra preset and dynamic reflections maxed in quality but set to 500m distance, chinatown spawn in West Coast, and 15 traffic AI spawned I seem to average about 60-70fps whereas with dx11 I'm seeing more like 20-25. Major improvement on the CPU side, assuming something performance-draining isn't just broken in the Vulkan build. Can't wait to test this out more!

Game hangs only with lowest setting of lighting
Also, looks like broken graphics probably are caused by 2GB of VRAM, low settings work fine but fps is very low (around 15)

Really low fps and fullscreen/borderless not working are my only problems.

Both images are me just outside city section of gridmap in a bluebuck.

    Full-screen does not work
Can't get higher resolution than 1280x720 unless it's in windowed mode and I stretch it out.
Always shows 0 mhz refresh rate, the display is 120mhz
Running in safe mode doesn't change anything.

It looks like it just doesn't recognise Generic PnP Monitor

I've noticed loading times are much longer (vehicles, levels, everything) with Vulkan. Also, there may be less micro-stutters, but there is a ton of annoying hitches and sometimes even mini half a second game freezes, especially when playing with traffic. Also, when trying to exit the game, BeamNG closed, but then apparently crashed 30 seconds later.
Specs: R9 3950X, 2080 Ti and 32 GB of RAM. I have BeamNG installed on a 2TB 970 Evo Plus.

For me new driver fixed that, but is causing ton of other issues with other software.

I have noticed also that when playing windowed with traffic, it is better to not have vsync on as there is much less fps drops then.

It is kinda odd as when playing windowed, window is synced to 60fps, despite game running 140fps, then if I set vsync on, there is lot of drops to even down to 35fps.

Similar with fps limiter, getting split second drops to very low fps, but there is much less of those without fps limiter.

There is lot less drops if I play with 4 vehicles, but even with 12 vehicles at custom map I'm mostly getting 80fps, so it is kinda funny that enabling vsync or fps limiter is making those drops worse, when you would think they should make it less as there should be more unused computing power that should even out such drops.

My game and user document folder are on Nvme drive, so that should not be cause of drops, in theory that is.

I'm getting a 0x00000001 and the game doesn't even initialize after the launcher is closed. It runs successfully on the Direct3D renderer only. Selecting Vulkan + Safe Mode does nothing either.

    BeamNG.drive 0.23.1.0
Windows 10 version 20-04 (no pending updates, except for a notice to voluntarily update to 21H1)
    Intel Core i3 8130U (a potato)
Intel UHD Graphics 620 (firmware 27.20.100.9466, the latest stable drivers; there are newer beta drivers)
"8 gigabytes" of system memory (actually 7.91 GB but eh...)

I've attached the beamng.log from my latest attempt. It comes out of a fresh new user folder; I deleted the old one to see if that would also do anything. A TL;DR:
    Code:
     4.59856|E|`anonymous-namespace'::_AfterModuleInit0::initialize|Failed to read shader db
     [...]
8.76438|D|GFXInit::createDevice|Attempting to create GFX device 0: GPU (VK) [with output Device]
     8.76443|D|GFXInit::createDevice|shader model: 5.0 , available video modes: 1
8.76449|D|GFXInit::createDevice|Device created, setting adapter and enumerating modes
33.72484|E|Crashreport|*** Trying to get Lua callstack
33.72488|E|Crashreport|*** this is not the error, look above
    33.72494|E|GELua.main_static_crashrpt|
    =============== Stack Traceback >> START >>
    (1) main chunk of line at line 1
    --------------- << END <<
Edit: installing the 30.0.100.9667 beta drivers for my 620 did not help either.

Edit 2: There were 18 files which were apparently missing and I had them reinstalled, and I also updated to Windows 10 21H1, but even these attempts were fruitless. I will now try a clean reinstall of the game and see if that does anything.

Edit 3: I've tried literally everything I could think of: reinstall the game completely, update my device drivers again after the Windows 21H1 update reverted them, reboot the system anyhow, try to abort Steam to see if that was causing any conflicts even though it also aborts the launcher if I do that... I'm absolutely stuck here, especially considering the 0x00000001 error is not telling me anything other than the game could not be initialized.

Edit 4: I've also attached the beamng-dxDiag.txt if that will hopefully provide a bit more information; the beamng.log is virtually the same as before.

On Vulkan, first of all i have that purple line on a screen (For first time i thought that my monitor are dying lol)

secondly, my fps is around 6-8, but with DX11 it's around 30-40 on same settings at 1080p
graphics are literally the same, no issues with it.

    pc spec:
    Ryzen 5 1400 3.5 GHz
Radeon 550 (It's an RX550, but with Bus width of 64 bit) 2Gb with latest driver
    Radeon R9 Memory 2x8Gb 3200Mhz Cl16

It take ages to load a map (sometimes game will froze).

Funny thing. On Gridmap I have 5-15 FPS no matter where. On ECUSA I have 5 FPS close to ground but when I move camera far above I'll get stable 25 FPS. On ETK EC I have 10-20 no matter where I look. Same with Derby map - 5 to 15 FPS. On DX I have 60-70 with one vehicle.

Didn't tested all maps but so far there are artefacts only on Gridmap.

Game crashes when I pressed Exit.

    some notes before:
    • using the same graphics setting in DX11 and Vulkan
    • load times are way slower
    • FPS limiter:100
    • windowed mode
    • nothing else open in the background
    • let the game "idle" some time to discard something is loading
    • every time i close the game i have an error message:
    • vclose.jpg
    • disabling dynamic reflecion does not increase fps
    • GPU always at 100% usage on every map i tested

The issue you’ve noticed: / This happens when:

there are 3 things that can happen:

    • sometimes the game tops out at 7-9 FPS no matter the map/car selected, it can be in WCU or Showroom but that does not change anything

    • when the above doesnt happen, this is: apparently the max fps the game can run depends of the selected car,
ex: (only tested in Gridmap V2, [when using DX11: 79 FPS independent of the car])
    Widgeon: 43 FPS
    LeGran: 34 FPS
    D15: 29 FPS
    D15 prerunner: 22 FPS

    • Vulkan Mode (Safe mode + extra debug data)
    simply doesnt start
    vsafe1.jpg vsafe2.jpg

    My specs are:
    • Windows 10 Pro, 20H2, 9042.868
    • i5 3330
    • GTX 760 2GB (driver: 471.11)
    • 16GB RAM

Thanks devs to experiment with Vulkan, I really hope it can be implemented in the future.

Hi, when I try to open my game using Vulkan, the game launches but does not display anything other than the icon in the taskbar. I have cleared cache, and I have no mods other than Gridmap V1 installed, however it still did this with no mods at all.

    I use Windows 10 Version 21H1 (OS Build 19043.1081)
I have an Nvidia GeForce 1650ti which is a mobile chip that shows up as supporting Vulkan in GPU-Z, my Nvidia game ready driver version is 471.11.

I want to note that I am positive that my laptop uses my dedicated GPU to run BeamNG.drive and my logs will be attached.
I would also like to mention that I closed the game manually after it did not launch.

    Edit:
    My full specs are:

    Ryzen 5 4600H
    GeForce 1650ti
    8GB 3200Mhz RAM

    Edit 2:
After reading the log myself it looked the game was loading when I shut it down but I was waiting 15 minutes, so I don't think it was going to load at all.

Under vulkan I need to empty the cache often if not the small artifact ends up getting big.

I am using Vulkan Safe Mode, (non-safe mode would not launch, it would just hang up at black screen). My FPS is about 3-4 where as usually I will get around 30-40. I am using Ultra preset, and also I was using dynamic reflection. Turning it off made no difference at all. When I would pan around the vehicle quickly, pink circles would appear near it. There are some white bars at the bottom of the screen and the side. I did this test in Windowed Mode.
    My PC specs are:
    Dell Precision T3500, (OEM X58)
    Intel Xeon W3670 6C/12T 3.20GHz

Crashes before game window opens on Ryzen 7 4700U (Zen 2, Vega 7). Works okay (with pink artifacting as seen in other posts) on Vega 64 (with Ryzen 2600). Opened support ticket 105922 for 4700U system.
